Northland Cable Unprofessional Lazy Fraudulant Marble Falls, Texas
One day laying in my bed I noticed that there was a hole drilled through my wall. I could see clear through the wall and outside. When I connected the wire coming through to the box it lead to my Northland Internet Router. So obviously the next step was to reach out to Northland and have them correct the issue. I did not advise them to drill through the wall. When I had approached them they refunded my installation fee and even came out to put a drill plate over the hole in the wall. So generous of them.
Now to piece together the order of installations for the two services, Direct TV came first, the Northland came later. Here is unfortunately were we have to back track a bit, when I had set up Direct TV, I had three receivers, 1 in the living room and 2 in the bedrooms; 1 on each end of the home. The one in my master bed room was set up last. I only had 1 tv at the time, but during the install they did not specify I needed a tv to be in the room during the installation. So when I found a TV I wanted I went to connect it and noticed there was not a cable coming in from the outside that would allow me to connect my Direct TV standard box! So I called Direct TV and they charged me to send a tech out and when the tech arrived, this is what was discovered.
DIRECT TV was the one that drilled through my wall and wired the house, when Northland came and set up their internet, they just connected their box to the Direct TV cable. Leaving me without cable. Now Direct TV added a splitter to see if that would rectify they issue, and it allowed me to have wifi and cable, which was great, but any connection through a hardline for the internet was extremely slow. So now because Northland never did any of their own work by running their own line, I have degraded signal and speed on my computers and now wifi as time passed.
I do not believe that this was first off legal, but only after research found it is mainly highly frowned upon, unethical and extremely dishonest. I have contacted Northland about this and they are going to look into the following:
1. A 50 credit for my Direct TV installation charge.
2. Speak with the operations manager so this doesn't happen again.
3. Have a tech come out to the house and run an individual line, like they should have in the first place.
I am still waiting for a response and a complete resolution to this issue. None of the above have been given at this time. They are all still pending items to be fulfilled, which I might add, were not requested by me, but upon revealing what had happened, were immediately suggested by the Northland Cable representative.
We shall see and I will update soon. Any advice would be great as well.
