Northstar Vanlines ripoff scam rude unprofessional frauds! Van Nuys California

Northstar is the worst moving company ever! We used them to move from Lynnwood, WA to Litchfield Park, AZ. They were 3 days late picking up with no call or warning. They never returned phone calls or messages! They were rude when we could speak to them and they told us they didn't know anything about our move! They were scheduled to drop off on July 8th, 2005 and instead no show, no call once again. We have spent so much time on the phone trying to figure stuff out on our own.

They contracted our belongings to 2 different movers, AA and East/West movers, both of which are also horrible moving companies! Northstar would then tell us it wasn't there problem. They then promised to deliver the following Tuesday-Friday (July 12-15) and again a no show no call! All this time we are spending money buying things we need to survive and eating out and sleeping on an air mattress.

When it didn't come on Friday I called the Litchfield Park, AZ police department. He called Northstar for me and Sandy told him they had told me they would deliver the FOLLOWING Wednesday or Thursday and they had never mentioned that to me. He said if it wasn't here by then to call him and in the meantime call the Van Nuys police. I called them and they also called and were given the same story.

That day I called the BBB who sent a report. I recently received Northstar's comments and it was full of lies, including the Wednesday/Thursday delivery, which never happened!! Yeah that is right we didn't get our stuff that day either.

When I spoke to Northstar about this they acted like they had NEVER told me it would be delivered then.
We did get it on Sunday and 8 boxes were missing (full of irreplaceable stuff) and our brand new dining room oak table had been treated horribly. Huge scrapes and indentions were on EVERY chair and the whole table. We were also charged about $400 for packing supplies that were unneeded and UNauthorized by us. When they arrived they wouldn't unload our belongings until we paid them a new price over $1000 more than we had on our estimate. I had printed all the papers related to 110% being the most you could have to pay but they would not listen!

When asked about the price increase other than the bogus moving supplies they had no reason for it. When we were given our pounds and cubic feet it was actually under by 1200 pounds and we were promised by SANDY that if we were under what they estimated we would ONLY pay for the actual weight. So why was the price increased?? No REASON!

On Monday we called Northstar and asked about our missing items and they said we pretty much have no chance of getting them and we can file for the .6o cents a pound for them!! About the over charge, they would have to talk to someone and call me right back.....that was 3 days ago!!! No return call!

Northstar is a scam and full of people that should have trouble sleeping at night with how they treat people and their belongings!! Don't use this company!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
