I had applied for a personal loan through "Northwood Financial" for $8000. I singed a contract and was required to secure the loan with a down payment of the amount of the 1st- 3 months of payments. As stupid as one could be, and after doing some investigation on Northwoodfinancial, it seemed to be a good lender with good credibility, so I wired them the required deposit of $571 via Western Union. Only to get a call from an agent asking for me to cover 3 more months of payments due to my credit score risk. Of course I didn't send this money and requested my initial deposit back. I was told I would receive this by form of cashiers check within 30 days. Of course nothing ever came and now the company phone number just has a busy signal. Their website is still up and excepting applications. is there anything I can do here?? Best regards, Robert Howard. 713-859-1044 .  I have all signed contracts and agreements as well as proof of the Western Union cash transfer to Northwood Financial.

I applied for a new loan under another name to see if they would answer and WHAM! there they were, ready to scam another person already in a financail crisis.

I, too, was scammed

AUTHOR: Nancy - (USA)

They scammed me for over $1000. I have filed complaints with moneygram, western union, Federal Trade commission, FBI and BBB. Wish we could all get together and file a class action lawsuit. I was sent an email that my money would be returned by Feb 15. Phone number to them also busy. Even had someone in Michigan call. So far 4 people have stated being scammed. - Nancy R Webb ~ Florida
