I had been online 2 days ago and installed Norton Anti-virus 2010 on my computer. I followed all of the instructions and restarted my copmuter to complete the install. When the computer turned back on, it would not reboot. There was an error saying it was due to a recent install or download. Norton was the only program that had been installed. I took it to my computer guy and he had found that my hard drive was fried and I needed a new one due to the install of Norton crashing it. $200 down the drain. I called Norton and they refunded me the $32 for the Norton but refused to reimburse me for my new hard drive since I went to a 3rd party vendor. Of course I had to go there. Working 2 jobs and taking classes, who has time to sit around and wait weeks for their computer to be fixed? I was on the phone with them for an hour and they wouldn't do a thing for me!
#1... their products and software will ruin your computer!!!!
#2... their customer service is dispicable!!!!!!
Please use Mcafee or Miscrosoft Anti-Virus!!!!

Software can damage the operating system but not hardware. If the hard drive is bad, then it was due to fail anyway. Your computer tech should have told you that.
