I am also a victim of the Norvergence scam. Just like the many others in the Houston area, my service installation was never completed. Although I left numerous phone messages for Irene Black, she never returned my calls in the 72 hours as noted in her message. I even left messages for her supervisor which were also never returned. To date, eventhough the 'magic matrix box' was mounted on the wall, the T-1 service was never connected. My phone service (and billing) has never be interrupted with Southwestern Bell or Verizon Wireless.

Although my contract was sold to Popular Leasing, I have not made any payments to them. I just received a demand letter from them threatening 'remedies'.

I am installing a new phone system this week as I can't even get the Norvergence system to work correctly. I am having to reset the handsets every 3-4 hours and losing calls in the process. I am sending a letter to the leasing company to request arrangements for them to pickup their equipment. Fortunately (for me), my contract was sold to Popular Leasing which was one of the companies to initiate the Norvergence bankruptcy. I have also advised them that if they decide to sue me, I will countersue them for harassment and for being a party to the Norvergence fraud.

For other victims in the Houston area, there is an attorney in Baytown, Weston Cotten, who was also a victim and is gathering names of other victims in the State for consideration of a Class Action suit.

Norvergence Victims...
..It is the opinion of the Rip-off Report staff that a Class Action will not work in this situation and will only lead victims down a long path of disappointment. In order for an attorney to take on such a case, there needs to be money. NorVergence clearly went belie-UP! / defunked / Bankrupt, which means, there is NO MONEY! Once a bonafide lawyer contacts Rip-off Report with a plan, we will be glad to make arrangements with them to e-mail those of you who filed a Rip-off Report. ..CLICK below to read more about our policy.. ...
