A check in the amount of $1785.60 was sent to me from Nova Research Inc. All I had to do was call to activate it....now when was the last time you had to activate a check? I tried calling the phone numbers on the letter but got a message that the person I was calling was not available. I tried the 2 fax numbers and got a disconnected number recording. The instructions were to be a mystery shopper and send a Western Union money transfer for $1450.00 and the remainder for various other expenditure and my salary of $150.00. The scam is to have you deposit the check, withdraw money before the check clears, western Union the bulk of the money and then get stung by your bank for a bounced check and fees.

I called the bank named on the check and was told that it is a scam. The banks security asked to have the check and the letter sent to them. Also, I contacted the state attorney generals office and filed a complaint.
