AVOID WITH A PASSION!!!  I ordered one of their promotions to try their system and selected autoship to get the trial promotion, and chose to cancel the auto ship within 30 days.  While cancelling via recorded telephone call, I confirmed that there would be no addtional charges, and their rep replied no, just the original charge that I was already charged and no more shipments would be sent or changed.  Well, regardless of that "RECORDED" conversation, I got hit with an unauthorized charge of $55.61.  Be prepared to be "told off" and talked down to if you complain about this charge, because they will tell you there is very small print on the bottom of a SCROLLBOX on the bottom of the order page, not just the bottom of the web page, the bottom of the scrollbox on the bottom of the web page, that you have to use the mouse to get to, and their customer service will tell you its your fault for not readinng all of their fine print.

THEY TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THEIR CUSTOMERS, because they know as long as they have fine print hidden anywhere on the web page, their best interest is protected under law.  I actually read this and never saw that $55.61 was going to be charged, nor do I recall this amount disclosed on my order confirmation page.  My credit card rep wasn't even able to see the specifics on the nutrisystem web site and treated her very rudely and disrespectfully and said they had been doing that to their customers for YEARS!!!

They obviously don't want people to try it to lose weight all in one shot, they want people to get used to eating their packaged foods, which medical professionals have a serious concern with anyways, Nutrisystem appears to want their customers to get on auto ship and not cancel and make nutrisystems a lifestyle to keep improving their bottom line.  When I called my credit card company to dispute, they called nutrisystems to get their side and they were very rude and disrespectful to the credit card agent too! Do yourself a favor and AVOID NUTRISYSTEMS WITH A PASSION, the health benefits are questionable and their customer service and business ethics is non-existent!  Their only appology was for the fact that when I actually cancelled I was given the wrong information about the fact that I would not be charged, but they refused to stand behind it and charged me anyways!

STILL A THUMBS DOWN FOR NUTRISYSTEMS

AUTHOR: datravster - (USA)

POSTED: Wednesday, November 07, 2012

Just now received a notification that there was a response to my complaint...My credit card company tried to pull up nutrisystem web site to see the "fine print" where I would have been charged EXTRA if I cancelled my auto-ship within the 1st month.  They were not able to see that anywhere and even looking through their details that are STILL hidden in a scrollbox.  My credit card company was shocked at how nutrisystem treated both of us on the phone and how the details they claimed was on their website was not found and my credit card company offered me a refund.

My only response to the director that claims they want to assist, is to do a better job at training your customer service department on how to handle complaints, and make your terms and conditions much more consise at the same font as your promotional material so people don't have to 1) scroll through a listbox to find out some of the fine print of the terms and conditions and 2) open another link that has additional terms and conditions.  People deserve to be treated honestly and fairly and your company does neither.

Same Problems with Nutri-System...

AUTHOR: Justice4all - (United States of America)

We got hooked into a similar promotion with these people. They are all nice and helpful when you are ordering. Once the shipment shows up (In our case the shipment wasn't even correct as to what was ordered the first time), we found that most of the food has a "chemical taste" to it. My guess is that it's from heavy preservatives used so they can avoid refrigeration of things that normally would have to be refrigerated for safety reasons. After 2 months on this we went to cancel. They made it near impossible. They were downright nasty on the phone to my wife and even worse to me when I had to follow up with this since the first time they decided that we didn't want to cancel, we wanted to delay the order for a month! So you think you stopped it and there is no charge and then out of the blue you get another charge for up to $400.00 for the program starting again! I called them up and tore them a new one this time. All they want to be is a food company with overpriced and bad tasting food and that's exactly what they are! They want to autoship to you every month. They don't seem to care about anyone losing weight as that was NEVER brought up even 1 time during the many conversations with them! Even after 2 months, and canceling, you would have thought that they were being terminated for the program not working but they were only interested in keeping the auto-ship going and nothing more! If you cancel with them, I suggest you call back the next day and find out the status of your account and if it's still going because for us, it was! 2 weeks later, another box showed up and was left on our doorstep! You can't even refuse it since they send it with no signature required so they delivery guy just drops it on the step and leaves! You have to pay for the return if you are returning it and even then, it will cost you more to ship it back. I finally learned a lesson...Stay away from ANYTHING that's being sold on TV! The cost of these ads run into the millions of dollars and the only way they can pay for themselves and still allow the company promoting it to make money is by making you a victim!
