How can people such as GM Tiger Oakley & Nick Sargeant Service Mgr have a clear conscience when they sell over priced pieces of crap. I am paying over $8000 for a vehicle KBB valued at $2500. This is not right. When I got the vehicle that had initially 120,000 miles it had no signs of rust a moth or so later what do you know rust. I wonder if they use regular paint to cover it up.

My vehicle had no working emergency break, the brakes were bad and the spare was no good. They make you get a warranty that is an extra $1000 included in the loan and when per se a engine light comes on a week after you purchase the vehicle that repair is not covered by the warranty, of course.

They try to convince you that their reputation is important and they want you to think they have your best interest at heart when they call themselveS fixing your vehicle and not charging you for it. Lets see you are making well over double the profit for a piece of rusted, junk any repairs they do PRO BONO I'm sure is a tax write off and they've definteley got there monies worth.

There should be laws against this. My car doesn't work. It is a piece a junk that hasn't ran right since I've got it. I will make it my life's mission to let anyone that will listen not to buy from CROOK Motors.

I learned two days after i got the newer car that they broke every moral possible. I found documents in car with previous owners informatio...including social security number. I also learned that I paid almost 3,000 more for the car 6 mths after she did...Im furious. I will take their name through the mud every chance i get. If you have any suggestions let me know.

Lemon Law in reference to BHPH

AUTHOR: Silver - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, April 29, 2009

Actually, Lemon laws do not apply to BHPH. These vehicles are not certified in any way. The reason I know this is because I am a paralegal and have ample experience with contract law. Also, many years ago I worked for a BHPH.

FYI: Most BHPH do not use KBB as guidelines for pricing vehicles. They all have their formulas for calculating prices. The most common formula being: how much they have in the vehicle x percentage they expect in profit. If any book is used as a guideline, there is only one they use: BLACKBOOK.

KBB is a consumer guideline. Blackbook is based on demand of the consumer. This book's values for vehicles is higher than KBB because we the consumer are driving it up according to what vehicles we like that week.

I will always highly recommend you take the vehicle to a CERTIFIED MECHANIC before purchasing. They unfortunately do not have psychic abilities. However, they can inform of any present or immediate issues the vehicle may have. At that time you will need to consider those issues, and decide whether or not this is a vehicle worth purchasing.

The BHPH I worked for required mechanic's checks. Moreover, I told every customer that the vehicle they are purchasing WILL eventually brake down on them. Let's face it--vehicles ARE machinery. They require regular maintenance. If you DO NOT maintain them they will brake down. They also wear out, you WILL have to eventually repair your vehicle. The majority of the time, this not the dealership's fault. This is a fact of life people! Just because the vehicle brakes down does not mean you were ripped off and the dealership should be held responsible. Most dealerships DO NOT offer a warranty. So feel special if you purchased from one that does.

Finally, do not purchase a 15 year old vehicle in fair condition for an outrageous amount and grow a brain after you committed to the loan, then whine about it. Take some responsibility! You know better than that!

Just Remember:
1. Shop wisely.
2. Do not have delusions of grandeur when purchasing from a BHPH. (By this I mean: do not expect "prestige consumer" (Outstanding credit rated customers) treatment pertaining to interest rates, caliber of vehicles, car prices and grace periods).
3. Read and understand every document you put your signature on and get a copy of it.
4. YOU ARE HIGH RISK! They are taking just as much risk as you are.

You are shopping BHPH for reason. Somewhere along the lines you had trouble for whatever reason; and now-- YOU WILL PAY FOR IT. Just get through the loan, rebuild your credit and stability and move on. Happy Car Shopping!

Honestly? This is worth filing a RipOff Report?

AUTHOR: Tammy - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, March 12, 2009

You are upset because you didn't receive $100 for a referral? And why would you send them referrals if they are overpriced and charge high interest rates. You are buying from a buy here pay here and you expect a low interest rate? I just missing the boat on this one.

Words of Wisdom to live by when purchasing a vehicle

AUTHOR: Tammy - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, March 12, 2009

After having read numerous reports not only on Oak Motors, but JD Byrider might I suggest to you, or anyone else purchasing a vehicle from anywhere - do not immediately put anything in writing the minute you see a car. I understand having to go to a buy here pay here, but it doesn't mean that you should fully rely on them.

If you know the blue book value of a vehicle, you still do not know what the dealer obtained it for. Granted it was probably below the blue book value, but be prepared! Haggle the price and if they don't want to give you a decent price that you are willing to pay - walk off the lot! No if's and's or but's.

If there are items not working on the vehicle before you purchase it, then MAKE them fix it - yes it may raise the price a little, but still if they don't want to fix it - walk off the lot!

Also, no one, not even a veteran mechanic, can look at a vehicle and tell you that 1 day later or 2 years later that something is going to break down on the vehicle. I know, I was married to mechanic and he lost some friendships because he told the people that the vehicle was good and then on down the line the engine blew or something else major went wrong. There is no way he could have known that. BUT, that is why before you put your name on the dotted line you have a mechanic look at vehicle so then you can back to the dealer and say before you buy it these items are fixed. Also, make sure they put it in the contract!

If you have had a certain item repaired more than three times there is a law called the lemon law and this pertains to used vehicles purchased from dealer as it does new ones.

Honestly, any used car dealer is no better than going to a private individual, except you do have a little bit more to fall back on such as I mentioned above. One of those being that you are able to make payments, which you can not do with an individual.

Just be better informed the next time you go. I learned alot from my Grandfather in making deals - if they want you bad enough, they will probably follow you to your car and cave before you leave the lot! Also, usually Mom & Pop lots are usually better to deal with.
