Oakwood Homes Shingles were never put on correctly 3 different managers promised to correct the problem never did they even took pictures and got second opinions. I still have shingles coming off with no holes nailed through them Roxboro North Carolina

We moved into our home Feb 2006 after moving in we noticed that the shingles appeared not to be put on properly. We mentioned it to the manager who spoke to the contractor about the shingles being bulky and not laying flat. He said that time would make the shingles lay down flat; however after a period of 3 months they never did and started to fall off.

After contacting the manager again concering replacing he said that he would have someone come out and look at it to see if it was Carolina Building Solutions (Manufacturer of Home) shingles that they put on at the factory or the shingles that there contractor put on so that they would determine who was liablethe .

Over a long period of time no one ever came out or called me back concerning this matter so I had to call manager back again. The manager called Carolina Building Solutions for a representative to come out and assess whose liable for replacing the shingles.

About 2 weeks later a representative from CBS came out to take pictures and assess the roof. During his assessment he informed me that it was a very shabby job that was done by the contractors and CBS rep. called Oakwood manager to tell him that Oakwood were liable for the replacing the shingles. At that point, Oakwood manager informed me that they would send out a representative to assess what needed to be done to correct the problem.

Over another long period of time after no one called or came out so I again called the manager back and he said that he would have someone come out and look at what needs to be done to correct the problem. Needless to say much time went by and many more phone calls had to be made before he sent someone to my residence. After their evaluation was done on the home he said that he would get it fixed for me because they were not put on correctly. Guess what?? I had to call back again but this time the manager had been fired and a new manager was there.

After catching him up on what was going on he was real nice about trying to get the situation solved but before he ever did he was replaced by another manager. He was also nice about trying to get the situation solved and because i live 3 hours away he asked me to have a roofer in my area to come out and price what needs to be repaired. I had 2 different roofers come out to assess my roof and both of them said that patching it up on the front side of the house would not solve the problem the entire front side needed to be replaced. I told the manager what was said by the 2 roofing companies that came out and he called them for a price to do the job. The manager then called me and said that the price that he was given was too much and he would have his contrator to come down to patch up only what had come off.

I was not satisfied with that answer because i knew it would only be a matter of time before more would come off. No one ever came out or called me back so I again had to take the initiative to call Oakwood about the shingles being replaced only to find out that, that Manager had been replaced again by another manager who I spoke with about the situation. This was now the fourth (4th) Manager within 1.5 years. After communicating with him about the problems with the shingles he said that they were behind on there work and that they would eventually get to me. Needless to say after another period of time no one ever called me back and they never got to me so I had to call back again.

At that point the manager said that they will not now replace the front side but only patch up what had come off and that my shingles had been ordered and are at there office awaiting for his contractor to get caught up in his work so that he can get to me. No one ever contacted me so I called back at this point highly upset. The manager said I would need to send him pictures so that he can decide on what he is going to repair. I then reminded him that he stated that he had ordered the shingles and he would have his contractor to come and repair the problem. He then said that he would not repair anything until I send him pictures so that he can see what needs to be done on the front side of the house only. He said that our warranty was expired and they were not obligated to fix anything.

I then reminded him that I have been trying to get this solved since 3 months after we moved into this home (Feb. 2006) and due to the changing of managers 4 times which is was my fault the shingles was never replaced. I would like to have all my shingles replaced because they were initially not put on correctly and patching would not solved the problem because it will only be a matter of time before more fall off.
