I NOTICED MY AT&T PHONE BILL HAD WENT UP,I CHECKED IT OUT AND THIER WAS A CHARGE FOR OAN SERVICES ( USA VOICEMAIL) FOR 12.95.

THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON SINCE DEC 2006.
I WROTE AND CALLED THE PHONE COMPANY THEY SAID NOTHING THEY COULD DO,I WOULD HAVE TO GET IN TOUCH WITH THE COMPANY OAN SERVICES,,I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO GET IN TOUCH WITH THEM YET.

NO-ONE ANSWERS THE PHONE WHEN I CALL.
THE ONLY THING I KNOW ABOUT THEM IS THE PHONE NUMBER.

Boy, they're quick. I BCC'd a copy of an email to every single email address that you put in your comment. Two of them came back immediately as undeliverable. Rosenthal, and Jackie Mitchell. I guess the other two went through. We'll see.

As soon as AT&T customer service is open I'll be making a call this morning and then I'll call several of those 1 800 numbers. I'm mad as a wet hen. The nerve. I haven't ever even talked to anyone on the phone. I haven't filled out any surveys. I have no idea whatsoever how they can get away with this mess.

I too, know your frustration.A few month's ago I was noticing a charge on my bill for an "Optimum Voice Mail Service".It was being billed by ILD Tellecommunications". Once I started trying to dispute this bill, it unraveled something way bigger than I ever thought when it comes to the telecommunications industry.Then I wondered, why AT&T would allow these companies to do this "third party billing".Well I found out, ATT is just a sellout, and they contract out with all these companies for a little "piece of the action".

Most of these third party billers, hope you will never notice the little charges on your bill, so to them..its "free" money! They will credit you back, (if you are one to put up a fight..).but that is only after the song and dance they put you thru hoping you will just give up in frustration. Hopefully this will save you a few of those dance steps.

First, I contacted ATT who said they could do nothing about it! They said I have to contact ILD Telecommunications Inc(who billed me)who says that I have to contact.-->Optimum Voice-->who said I had to contact -->support@optonline.net-->who said to contact-->OAN Corospondence dept-->Cablevision-->Who tells you to send them the OAN billpage..(Which is impossible, because they have ILD bill for them)-->.I was getting so pissed..

Then I sent a demand letter stating I wanted those charges removed within the next 30 days. I also tell them that I filed with the FTC,FCC,CalPublic Utilities Comission, and RIPOFF REORT..guess who finally pays in the end?-->OAN.

Then if you really want them to listen, then ask them for their Form 499A filer I.D number so that it can be filed with the F.C.C. Ask them to bill you directly and not on your phone bill.Then ask for a third party billing block on your phone.Also, after you ask them to credit you back, then ask for a confirmation number for your billing purposes.

OAN will try to tell you that they are just a billing clearinghouse, which is BS because after all my homework I did, I found out that most of these companies are all tied into each other, and they bill for each other also. I did all of this thru E-mails. Dont call, because they will just either, not answer..or they will harass you to pay..they will keep you on hold for an hour and a half, only to disconnect you..but my favorite one is this->they direct your call to automated operator services..(These companies also sell software that provides operators for any business and custom made customer service messages,and other billing services)So, chances are you wont get a real person, and if you do, it will be someone sitting in a room hundreds of miles away, who has no knowledge of anything, but to tell you to pay your bill.

Below are a few of the companies I found are all one in the same, so if they tell you that it is someone elses problem..dont accept that answer. Be demanding, and let them know you wont be taken. I feel for all of the people on fixed incomes, and elderly who might not ever notice the little extra charges on their bill, or dont have the time and strength to fight back!To a company the size of this..it means billions of free dollars! I never knew how big of a scam this was until I started digging. .I figured that I wasnt going to be a victim, and started at the top of these companies.

People need to be more aware and help stop these big companies from ripping off the little people! I hope some of this info helps
