We were a customer of Fremont Loan and Investment and always submitted our monthly payment 2 weeks in advance. We never had a problem with them until they told us that they had sold our loan to OCWEN.

I tried to call OCWEN many times in order to get a loan number from them but without a loan number you don't get to talk to anybody in this company. So I called Fremont and they told me to wait. I made the June payment on 5/14 to Fremont and then on 6/ 10 we rceived a "payment reminder" from Ocwen, the first letter we ever received from them) which included the June, July and August payment.

I called the number on that letter (from their collections department) and asked them if that is the companies way to greet new customers: with letters from the collections dept. The lady told me that they had received our june payment from Fremont and I asked her to send me a written statement that we are OK with our payment. Instead, we received another payment reminder for the month of July and August, no confirmation that they had received the June payment.

Each time I call them they are telling me that we are fine with our payments and each time I ask them to send us a corrected statement and instead we get payment reminders.

Don't EVER Believe An Ocwen Employee!

AUTHOR: Elizabeth - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, June 29, 2003

Steven,

Whatever you do, NEVER believe an Ocwen employee! They don't know how to tell the truth, and each employee will give you a completely different answer. I doubt they'd know the truth if it jumped up and bit them.

I had something very similar happen when HUD sold my mortgage to Ocwen in March of 1996. After repeated calls, I could not get an account number from them to attach to my payment. I'm supposed to send them money and not know where it would be applied to? I called HUD and they told me that they would return any payment I sent them as they no longer held my mortgage.

All I had was there phone number for customer abuse, which I called on a daily basis. They claimed they hadn't recieved my information from HUD. Finally in June of 1996, I get a demand letter. This was the first correspondence I had with them. To this day, I don't even have a copy of my mortgage agreement.

Their plan is to force you into either a forberance agreement or foreclosure. I had to file for bankruptcy to keep my house. When you send a payment ALWAYS send it certified, return receipt requested. This shows proof when it was received by them. They like to hold onto payments and post them so they are late. Either that or you can pay online at their website. It may cost you $10 for speedpay, but it's worth the peace of mind knowing you have another bank to prove when the money was transfered. You'd have to pay for the certified letter anyway.

Contact an attorney ASAP! They are trying to take your home, not to mention destroying your credit rating. Oh, FYI, every one of those "reminder" letters from Ocwen costs you $95 for LEGAL fees. They claim they are sent by their legal department. Too bad that they are on Ocwen letterhead and unsigned. Then there are the late fees they've tacked on and probably haven't told you about.

If you can, refinance with someone. I tried to, but with all the bogus late and legal fees, not to mention their destroying my credit rating and my payments would have doubled, making them impossible to pay.

Don't let them make you more of a victim than they already have!
