As a former sub contractor for Odyssey Homes, I can tell you things that go on behind the scenes that will make you wish you never bought a home from this Bad Builder.

They force their sub contractors to save them money by cutting corners once construction begins on a project. Then they request lots of "extra" work from the subs with instructions to submit a Work Order for payment of the Extra's.....But in the end, the payment is never made. Only production work is paid regularly but that also has many frivolous back charges/deduct's.

This builder has mastered the "paperwork shuffle" so that invoices get lost and forgotten about and therefore, rarely ever paid in full. This builder is so bad at paying for the extra work they require, that at one point last year there were subs quitting and walking off the job after learning of yet another short paid invoice.

This report is for all the Ripped Off homeowners who bought a home from Odyssey. They never get to hear about the behind the scenes fighting that goes on between the subs & the builder...all they know is that they have problems with the quality of their homes. It's really sad because these are mostly high end homes in Scottsdale & Fountain Hills.

If these buyers could see inside the walls of their home.....they would be horrified.

You see, whenever the builder short pays the subs, the guys who work on the subcontractor's crew take it out on the materials used to build the home.

For example, have you ever walked thru a home under construction & wondered how all the tubs are filled with "water" when the water lines haven't been hooked up yet ? That's not water folks.....its sub contractor Urine.

Everybody knows that construction workers should be the last ones to be screwed because they are notorious for evening the score and unfortunately, its the home buyer who suffers.

Its good, smart business to treat the subs well because if they do, they will build a nice house for you. Too bad this builder has decided to take the low road to home building. This is the main reason they can't keep most of their crews long term.
