The Ohio State Athletic Commission is by far the worst and most difficult group of people to deal with in the sport of Mixed Martial Arts. The head of the commission, Bernie Profato is known as a con man who lies and cheats. It is clear too, when he declines fair matchups on independent cards, but then allows the UFC to let 0-0 CM Punk debut as a pro MMA fighter.
All he does is get on the phone and threaten fighters and promoters, and name drops random UFC fighters that he knows in order to sound important. "I know Dana White, I know Randy Couture, I'll call them right now." It's not impressive, and he needs to resign.
Bernie has had his hands full in corruption his entire life, and it is baffling that he is allowed to serve as an athletic director for a government agency.
If you are a fighter - DO NOT fight in Ohio.
If you are a promoter - DO NOT promote in Ohio.
We need to boycott his services until he resigns.
