Responded to a Craigslist ad advertising for a full time position of Sports Photographer. I responded and was asked to come in for an interview. Took a simple written test and the interview began. Showed my portfolio and they did not care. I asked about the position needing to be filled and no response was given on the type of sports. Then I was offered a part time job with the company working at OU home games. I was told in full what the gig was. It is taking peoples pictures in the crowd enroute to the stadium or tailgating. We were paid .25 per email and sellable picture including an hourly wage. I was told to show up at the booth at around 1pm.

I arrived to find no one there. At 1:30 a rep for the company finally showed. I was out taking pictures by 2:30pm. That part is all legit. Here is the caution.

After the kickoff of the game we were to report back to the booth. I reported back to find my manager was no where to be found. No big deal. Then I start talking and the same thing was said over and over. I responded for the Sports Photographer position and was told this is the test to get into it. The ripoff comes to this.

I was only paid for 4pm to 6pm. Even though they had me work from 230pm to 630pm. There is no way to tell if they were accurate with your "sellable" pictures. They also told me the emails I would gather would only be used twice. Once for notification of posting on their website and then once of removal of the picture from the website. Talking to customers they spam the crap out of these poor folks just wanting one picture. Not other companies spam just specials and stuff like that from their company.

I also had another big issue. They only had vendor rights on University Grounds. They sent me to Campus Corner and Student Union parts of the campus. No big deal there. Until I started to get approached by reps from OU and The Oklahoman. The company had no big deal in this one. The employees of the company did. They would regularly dismiss the complaint often talking back to the Reps. Meaning they were not to pleasent to me about it. Then I was given an area to cover and I look back and I have 4 other photographers right behind me taking up my area. Meaning everyone started dodging it because well lets face it. They were acting like carnies. I was told I was going to leave with around 100 bucks for that day. I might clear 50. Just becareful working with this company as they just sale you a pitch. You will get something out of them but they are not all truthful and supportive.
