Old Dominion Freight Lines Ed the Broke my fiberglass auto body fender and denied the claim Thomasville North Carolina

Had a fiberglass front end for a drag race car coming from Florida to Sacramento.

Old Dominion calls and says come and get it, as I prearranged to pick-up from the terminal.

They called me twice to say the same thing-OK 

Get down there and it's "still on a trailer"

I say "unload it then".

No

You have to wait, and that means untill they're "d**n good and ready".

WTF?...You called me and said "come on".

They don't care, not one little bit and made that real clear.

I told them to call be back when it was "ready for real" and I left.

They call me back and the carton is on the dock and a bit crumpled despite multiple big day-glow orange stickers "FRAGILE" "FIBERGLASS BODY PART" "TOP LOAD ONLY" etc.

By this time it's almost 10PM, I have to bring this thing to the race car shop to drop it off and I'd be lucky to get home by midnight and I get up at 5 AM for work.

It's a huge cardboad box and I pry it open some to look with my flashlight and it looks OK so the forklift man brings it out to my trailer and we hand load it on and he has me sign, I cant even see what because it's dark out in the parking lot.

Get to the race car shop, unload it by hand (giant box and all it's only about 100lbs.

Unpack it and there a hole punched through the fender, with a cresponding hole through the box that looks just like the hole a fork lift would make.

I call immediately.

Dirt-bag Ed the claims investigator tells me I can't prove they did it.

It's beyond obvious that something big hard and heavy (forklift) did the damage and I don't have a forklift.

Now Dirt-bag ED knows d**n well what happened and yes, I should have made a note on the paperwork but I was very tired and it was real dark.

The take away is this, If Old Dominion damages your property and has a way to deny your claim, that's what happens.

I paid extra money for the increased insurance too!!!
