Omnitech Support Tried to sell mee a repair and maintenance contract when the problem was easily solvable by reboot Los Angeles, California
*UPDATE Employee: He didnt give us a chance to fix his problem and we immediately refunded his money.
*General Comment: Good support given
I called the MS help line since I had a problem with my print spooler, caused by uncontrolled power off situation. When I contacted Omnitech, their representative kept me on the phone for over an hour, and ran an analysis software that "scared" me with many issues. He proceeded to offer a very expensive repair at $180 which I negotiated down to $134. He then proceeded to try and sell me an annual service contract even though I told him I wasn't interested. Once I insisted to move forward with the repair he told me he needed to get an expert to deal with my problem.
I cancelled the repair, and after a simple power shut down and start up, the problem was fixed.
Bottom line was the person who answers the phone is not a computer IT expert but a sales person who is supposed to turn a minor computer problem into a service contract sale.
DON'T USE THESE GUYS, AND WHEN YOUR ARE REFERRED TO THEM BY MICROSOFT, LET THE MS PERSON KNOW THAT OMNITECH IS A FRAUD.
