An almost brilliant rip-off. A comedy to listen to. I called them before submission (45 minute wait) because of multiple rebates offered on this product. I got the name of the support person and did exactly as I was told, inlcuding sending the materials by certified mail. You get periodic email letting you know the rebate is being processed. You even get an email saying you'll receive a check, followed shortly by an email of rebate final status change. If you assume that means your rebate, which was already approved, is being sent....WRONG! You need to click on a link which will tell you, after all of the hoops you've jumped through, that your rebate was denied by the manufacturer. The reason? 'Invalid UPC'. And I'm not the only one who's been given the same reason and systematic brush off-just do some research. I called Onrebate (2 hours on hold)they couldn't help me because 'they didn't know who I originally spoke to', but whoops, I had the guy's name! Great! They approved me after I faxed all of the original information AGAIN! I got another email saying that my rebate was approved! All is well? WRONG! A few days later another rebate email. The same denial. The same reasons! One last try to contact Onrebate, but this time, after 45 minutes on hold, I was simply disconnected. I won't buy from Tigerdirect again unless they honor theis rebate. I'll never use Onrebate, buy any X2gen products or make a buying decision based on a rebated price ever again.

Never had a rebate problem

AUTHOR: Jay - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, August 05, 2007

I have participated in the 'rebate' game for years and have NEVER had a problem. It should be noted that the rebate check will not be issued until the Return Period has expired. Example: If I buy a product that can be returned for credit within 90 days of purchase, then the rebate check will not be issued before then. That makes very good sense to me.

True, you must be very careful when mailing a rebate request. Dot your i's and cross your t's. Life is like that in the electronic age of today. Rebates often can be submitted online today. What a blessing.

Interestingly, when I wanted to submit this 'rebuttal' I had to jump through some number of hoops to do so. First, I had to register. Then I found out that the procedure for rebuttals had changed (which had no effect on me).
Then I had to provide my email address.
Then I had to provide a password
Then, I get a screen that tells me I now have to open my email program and find the confirmation of registration.
Found it! Gosh, there is a confirmation number that I will need later. (Ain't Copy & Paste wonderful?).
OK, when back at the Rippoff Report site, I have to provide my email address again along with the confirmation number that I copied and now pasted

Finally, I am registered. So I am ready to submit my rebuttal. But wait! Though not required, I should not indent, I should leave a space between paragraphs and should not use all CAPITAL LETTERS.

How many hoops did I jump through to get to this point? More than a couple. Computers have revolutionized the world. They are marvelous. They are aggravating. More than anything, they are demanding. Imagine how a company operated just 30 years ago. It was telephone and snail-mail. Today we communicate more and more like I am doing here. And, because computers are electronic devices (either on or off) when we use computers we MUST do it right or it will not be done. Hmmmmmmmm.....Sounds like a rebate!
Jay
