He’s at it again!

Disgraced and deregistered builder Daniel John Smith from the South-East Queensland region (Brisbane and the Gold Coast) – previously from the now defunct DJ Smith Construction Pty. Ltd., then the RICC Group, followed by 24-7 Building and Maintenance Pty. Ltd. Is back in the building game despite being banned by the state regulatory body the QBCC.

Smith’s latest ventures have seen him involved in a new entity called “One Build” which has been involved in the construction of retirement centres and residential properties across the South East Queensland region.

Unable to hold a builder’s licence any longer due to falling foul of the QBCC (twice) for a variety of reasons including Level 1 Defective Building Works (the worst kind), Failure to Rectify Defective Works and Financial Non-compliance – which included non-payment of superannuation entitlements to former employees and repeated non-payment to suppliers and sub-contractors for which the Australian Tax Office pursued him along with ASIC.

 So Smith has now aligned himself with new “business partners” – including Dougal Vincent of Ting Painting.

Reviewing some of the plans Smith has been working to of late at Lot 3 Wattle Grove, Boronia Heights, it appears that he has also been using a company:

 If you are approached, or have the ill fortune of crossing paths with Daniel John Smith in any of the guises he uses, do not believe a word that comes out of his mouth. He is a compulsive liar and a completely incompetent builder – hence the QBCC revoking his building licence – twice and banning him from being a “person of influence” in the industry.

Sadly others have been stupid enough to allow him to operate under their licences and this has resulted in significant financial loss to suppliers such as the small family run business; Integral Plumbing & A/C to whom he owes more than $10,000 after they installed two reverse cycle air-conditioners at his personal property located at 81 Stuart Street, Bulimba 4171 Queensland.

Funnily enough Smith is stupid enough to continue using the same mobile phone number (((REDACTED))) he’s had since the DJ Smith Construction Pty. Ltd. days.

Avoid Ting Painting, Crystal Blue Homes/Aussie Building Design and (ABOVE ALL) Daniel John Smith if you want any of your building works done to anything approaching an acceptable standard.
