I hope anyone interested in listing with One Stop Motors sees this first!

One Stop Motors agreed to advertise my car (2011 Ford Escape with 36,200 miles) on many external services (most importantly, eBay motors) within 3 business days of my initial phone call with them. All of the information for them was ready as I had already posted a craigslist ad (which is how they found me). They told me they could sell my car for $2,900 more than what I was asking which is why I was okay with their $499.00 up-front fee - WHAT A MISTAKE!

Below is the list of my communication with them:

- June 14th - Signed up with them - they promised advertisements would be listed by 6/19/13
- June 19th - Ads not posted so I called in. Manager promised they would be done by 6/24/13
- June 28th - Ads still not posted so I called in again. I asked to cancel and for a refund. The refund was refused by the manager Christy Duda so I requested to speak with CEO and the CEO has still not called back.

Needless to say, I disputed the charge and am waiting to hear back on the outcome. The bad part of all of this is that I told them up-front that I was skeptical that they could sell my car for so much money but the sales people tell you, "You can get that because we finance the car which makes it more accessible to potential buyers. We don't make our money on the fee, we make our money on the financing and shipping of the vehicle" which made me comfortable enough to continue listing it with them.

Also, every time you call, you have to wait at least 10 minutes before you can talk to someone. It seems like the initial fee is their only way to make money because they definitely don't advertise as they promise. As a test of this, I called their number and clicked "1" to be a buyer, I waited on hold for 8 minutes and was then disconnected. I don't think that level of service sells cars! I would love to see how much of their money they make from these fees vs. how much they make by actually selling cars.

One Stop Motors Sells Services with No Intention of Fulfilling

AUTHOR: bwel123 - ()

As stated in the above rebuttal - I signed up on June 14th and was promised my ads would be up on many different sites including eBay within 3 business days. By June 19th, they only had a small webpage on their website up and some clone websites they own (the same content I had prepared for my own Craigslist ad) - not the other great placements they promised, specifically, not the eBay placement. When I saw this, I thought, "I did not pay $499 for this!" as I think any normal person would and called in to see what was going on.

When I called to see why eBay and other sites weren't up (only the listing on their site was up and clone webpages on other websites they have), they explained that eBay was doing a three week trial period where they stopped allowing peple to list FREE classifieds; however, One Stop Motors did not mention this during the sales call. One Stop Motors promised to put me on eBay within three days - I don't care how! So only after I called in to complain did they offer to do what they had promised during the initial sales call: to put my car up on eBay. They said they would call me once my eBay ad was up within 3-days. 3 days later and no ad, I called in and demanded cancellation but the manager (Christy Duda) said she would ensure it was up personally and call me back. For $499, a company should do their job!

Come July 7th and still not call from the manager I called in , they told me the eBay listing had still not been posted so I said to stop everything and give me a refund. When the manager refused, I asked to speak with her manager (who she said is the CEO) but he was not available and never called me back. Now, the only way to get my money back is through a credit card dispute...

Since this, I have listed my car elsewhere for $199 and they have MUCH better service and do what they promise.

Another interesting fact, every time you call in to One Stop Motors, you have to wait 10-15 minutes to talk to someone and yet they find the time to make outgoing calls to people with Craigslist ads.

OSM Customer Service

AUTHOR: OSM CS Manager - ()

One Stop Motors implements an aggressive advertising campaign for private sellers. At One Stop Motors we are able to offer financing, shipping and warranty to our private seller’s potential buyers that they would not otherwise be able to offer. OSM guarantees to advertise for our private sellers until the vehicle sells and, depending on the advertising package, will list the vehicles on www.onestopmotors.com as well on 50 additional websites and major search engines.

Mr. Welfel signed up with OSM on June 14th and as promised his ad was up within the 3-5 business day time frame that we explain to all of our customers during the verification process, his ad was up and running on June 18th by 12:23 PM.

On June 21st our customer service department received our first phone call from Mr. Welfel and he stated he wanted his money back. I explained to him that we were advertising his vehicle just as promised, walked him through how to log in to his account and view all of his marketing links and monitor his account. I had also explained that Ebay Classifieds were not available to anyone nationally as they were doing a three week trial period to see if they would be bringing classifieds back at all. I told him we could do an Ebay auction for him at no charge (normally a charge) for the inconvenience of Classifieds not being accessible to anyone at the time. I told him that his Ebay auction would take between 5-7 business days and we would provide him a link as well as email him when his auction was up and running. He was fine with that.

On July 7th (7 business days) Mr. Welfel called and said not to do his Ebay auction, but that he just wanted his money back.

I explained that we could not refund Mr. Welfels one-time fee as we had been advertising his vehicle just as we guaranteed him we would. Mr. Welfel did not have a legitimate reason to receive a refund. We had and have been advertising his vehicle.
