Was solicited by mail to have lunch and to listen to a presentation titled, "Secrets of a Self-made Internet Millionaire" along with a free tablet computer to the first 50 to call, register and attend the event. Called up about this invitation and to see if I was among the first to respond for that free tablet. The response was; "oh, there is only one tablet that will be available at the presentation through a drawing." Hmm, that's not what it says on the promotion. But that's OK, subtle deceptions are acceptable in today's marketing ploys. I am looking to get into an online work at home income to supplement my income other than trading online. What could I loose other than my time and some gas money. Besides, they offer us lunch and I could learn something. 

They recommend we arrive at 11:30, which most people did. The program started on time, 12 noon, and went on for over 2 hours with a few lunch jokes along the way, criticizing that it could be a Mc.Donald lunch bag. Of course it could not be that! We went on to listen attentively at this great news how we can make money on the web through 'affiliate programs'; placing ads with Anthony's special software and support every step of the way. They laid out the perks, and the by now for $2,990 or pay $5,595 after offer. The pressure is on.

Then they bring out our lunch box. That's right. A ham/cheese sandwich in a hot-dog bun, a sugar cookie and apple. McDonald's would have been better. We asked some associates for the low-down of how real this program is, how hard it this to do, how much time would one have to dedicate in order to be successful, etc etc. Everyone had a perfect response. That's OK. We were a little confused as to the 90 day payback guarantee which is; 'if you earn the cost of the seminar, $2,990 within the 90 days, they will refund you this sum.' Sounds good to us.

We went on to ask, "but what if we took the time and followed the companies instructions etc, and we did not make the money in the time frame, would not that void the warranty?" The answer was 'yes'. That didn't sound right. How are we to monitor one another as to who is telling the truth that we will be successful. We have no idea about this market nor how it works and only know that we have to trust that what they say is true, and give them a large sum of money up front within a limited time period. 

Look, I am pretty sure this program can work, but there are too many red flags. We need and expect more integrity and a stronger, more honest guaranty that we will not be lost in the web world, become a number, and help Anthony's pocketbook. To be insulted with a terrible box lunch, especially in Hilo where there are so so many wonderful local places that can offer a much better presentation, the pressure to by now, and a weak guaranty that lacks integrity, honesty and surety raises too many red flags. 

We called the 800 number to test out what the process would be like if we were to cancel and we are told that we are out of the district range for the number to respond. We get online and search until we get some numbers from the BBB, call and sadly cancel. I recommend that instead of making people pay such a large up-front fee, that they put a deposit of good faith, with a promise of monthly payments in order to stay active while a mentor helps us get set-up and moving into income. If the program does not work, or the individual flakes out and stops payment with notice, then the agreement should be terminated and everyone is happy. If it works, then we pay a monthly service fee or pay off the seminar cost. 

They told us the 90 day warranty was designed to make sure we are successful. Seems a little lop-sided to their favor. No matter how good this deal is, there are too many red flags, and the lunch should have been enough of a warning to us. Sadly to say aloha to Anthony Morrison.
