I received an email from online supplier offering free information on how to succeed on ebay. It appeared as an ebay advertisement. However, this wasn't free at all since they charged $1.95 for shipping and handling. As I was exiting from the email I received a pop-up that resembled an instant messenger box. The live employee of online supplier said "Don't go. Only $1.95 for shipping and handling and an opportunity to make thousands. You will also be eligible for $250.00 in merchandise just for requesting this valuable information." Thinking I was dealing with a reputable company (ebay) I went ahead and ordered their information package, giving my checking account debit card as my means of payment.

Lo and behold along comes my bank account statement a month later and not only am I being charged for the $1.95, this deceiptful company also took $39.95 from my account. I now realized that the $1.95 scam was their way of obtaining my bank information so they could help themselves to my funds. I called them immediately and was told by ordering the "free" literature I was joining their company as a client and their fee is $39.95 per month. As much as I dislike balancing my check book, I was immediately thankful it was a practice I had gotten into. Despite my arguement, they refused to refund the $39.95 they had fraudulantly taken from my account. However, they gracefully closed my "account" which I never opened and sent me an email with a new offer! Hello!

Here is how I have handled these crooks and I suggest anyone who has been violated in the same manner as myself, follow suit;
1) Go to http://www.ic3.gov/ This Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3) is a partnership between the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the National White Collar Crime Center (NW3C). The IC3 gives the victims of internet crime a convenient and easy-to-use reporting mechanism that alerts authorities of suspected criminal or civil violations.

2) Go to your bank or contact you credit card company and fill out an affidavit reporting fraudulent activity on your account. There is a small fee for this service. In my case, Visa has refunded me my money as a charge back and is investigating this company.

Be aware of these types of offers. I have learned a valuable lesson and will be very skeptical of future offers.

#1 UPDATE EX-employee responds

Company is almost as bad as the customers.

AUTHOR: G - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, October 15, 2006

I quit working at this place a while back, and I must say, I am bitter towards the comany and its customers.

Number ONE: First thing I learned while watching tv, the ads that tell you something is free always have tiny little writing underneath, explaining basically that well.. it's not free.

The sentence I heard everyday "I paid 1.95 for a FREE kit" is just such an oximoron that it made me want to laugh. And in e-mails, I'd see, "u ripped me off i payed 1 dollar for a FREE kit and now u charged me. gimme my money back!" I am not kidding you.

There is fine print. On the internet, you have to be careful of what your doing. And if you weren't this time? Then take it as a lesson and be glad it isn't an actual scam.

A 30 dollar lesson, 40 dollar, and now 50 dollar (because they changed their prices yet again.) that you didn't have your entire life savings ripped right from under you. Now, if you are dull enough to sit on your statement for 5 months and rack up the charges, that is your own fault. No one elses.

Do you realize how many people sign up for this a day? I hear of people telling me we need to call them to let them know they've been charged. No, sorry hun, doesn't work that way! If you don't tell your cable company that you don't watch tv because you punched a hole in it, they're gonna keep charging you for cable. Do you honestly think any company with thousands of customers would call you and say, "Hi! Are you still using our services? If not, you should probably cancel." No.

NUMBER TWO. It's a company. It's going to have greedy bastards working at the top. This company doesn't care about you or the employees. Trust me. But you know why we still defend it? BECAUSE YOU PEOPLE ARE JUST NOT USING YOUR HEAD! We know d**n well that people call within their trial period to cancel. Or e-mail as well if they can't call. Or even send a letter in the mail. I've seen all forms of cancellations that are excepted. We don't make it hard to cancel. If you call the customer support and you just want to cancel, that'll be the shortest call of your life. Because the reps you talk to are all sick of hearing you irresponsible adults b***h because you didn't pay attention.

There are 81 reports on this company. There are over 500,000 customers with Online Supplier. You are the minority, and face it, you just gotta learn this lesson sometime.

NUMBER THREE! What does the e-mail imply? It pretty much sums up the idea that you'll make money so easily you won't even notice! Doesn't that sound like a get rich quick scheme? Kinda! I know customers do make money with the service. But why? Because it's actually in the "online business" catagory, and in any kind of business, you have to put WORK into it. Like advertising to get customers. It doesn't work like magic, and so many lazy adults want to just sit and do nothing for money. And then get pissed at us because they aren't responsible with what money they do have.

Number four. I can tell you that they are putting sooooooooo much effort into actually making everything a lot better. They recently revamped the customer service so reps will actually know what they are doing. And they are not all about giving no refunds. They don't have to, but they do. There's about 50 grand a week being refunded to customers.

So if you call, say with in two days after your first month of billing, I can bet you will be refunded in full for one month. But if you're calling 20 days after you were billed, more than likely, they'll give half or none.

I wouldn't waste time with filing so much reports. Since as you can see, even companies like "Pizza Hut" have been complianed about.

A business will have happy customers and unhappy customers. No matter what.
