Because of their broad range of provided products they have several websites dedicated to serving consumers based on the assets they are interested in purchasing. OnlineCarReport.com is a branch of Research.com that focuses on purchasing used cars. Gabe Bristol stated the following about his company, "It goes through the same processes. How do we market this to a person who is interested in a used car? It’s a slightly different market. A person generally isn’t looking at a car the same time they are looking at a house. "
Leads for OnlineCarReport.com are primarily obtained through individuals doing online research on the value of their home, or a home they are interested in. They have additionally done email campaigns, promotions on social media, and SEO. Consumers interested in the products provided by Research.com will request a specific report in correlation with the asset of their interest. During the on-site interview, Mr. Bristol was asked to describe a situation where a client was not satisfied with the level of service they received. Mr. Bristol expressed that their services are rare and can result in discovering an array of information. This can be anything from a property value is lower than the consumer thought it would be, or requested a criminal report and it's not available to the public yet. OnlineCarReport.com is aware of the nature of their business and will do everything in their power to provide the highest level of quality assurance, "when you have thousands of customers you are going to have more than one unsatisfied customer. We are committed to helping our customers in any way we can as quickly as we can and to their satisfaction. I can tell you one fairly recent incident when we had a woman call in and told us that there is a car going through her neighborhood at 80mph and was endangering her kids and she ran a vehicle history search on it. It didn’t come back with anything on it. No accidents have been associated with the vehicle, and when we told her there was no info on it and she thought it was a faulty report. We refunded her fee in total."
When asked to comment on complaints posted on Ripoff Report's website Mr. Bristol stated the following, "If they want to for whatever reason to cancel their subscription. We do make it very clear from beginning to end that this is a membership and you will have access to this information monthly unless they cancel it. It’s kind of tough for us because we have customers that use it for several months and then come back and say they only ordered it for one month, we still credit the account in full." The report is true but the customer did not realize they signed up for the $1.00 report but also the upsell to get unlimited reports for 30 days at $18.95. We reached out to this customer to let them know we can refund them for the misunderstanding. We have made changes to the website verbiage and message to make it more clear what customers are signing up for so there is no more confusion.

I am registered with a car auction, and there were ads for a $1 car report, I paid for the car report, but did not read the fine print. When you purchase the 1$ report they automatically sign you up for a three month car report subscription. Please read the fine print, there are many such sites that do the same thing (including CARFAX).
