in july 2002, someone, or some online entity, unlawfully acquired and utilized my credit card to access onlinedetective.com, billed thru Ccbill.com.

upon cancelling an account with the exact same amount being debited, $29.95 a month. i thought it was still being debited. much to my suprise, when i contact the e-billing service, i found out i had an account with onlinedetective.com.

upon contacting onlinedetective, they advised that they could find no record of an account and that i should contact Ccbill.com and attempt to recover my $506.05.
of course Ccbill.com advised that they had forwarded those funds to onlinedetective. they would have me believe that maybe i forgot about opening the account. i attempted to explain that i had no use for such generic database, having access to much more powerful resources available to me through my job as a police officer.
neither companies showed any intrest in helping me and so much as said, tough s**t your stupid for not noticing the recurring debit.

well, i may be inattentive, working three jobs and all, but the corporate policy at both companies seems to be leaning towards the criminal side. and use of the internet makes it wire fraud, a federal offense.
any one else experience such double billing should contact their local law enforcement agency and file a report. and if you happen to live in my jurisdiction, i'll be happy to take the report myself.
