I submitted a $18 rebate for Ultra 512mb Secure Digital card. I registered my rebate at onRebate.com, printed out the rebate form, filled it out and included the original UPC/Barcode label and a copy of original invoice, and finally I signed the rebate form and mailed it out.

After a couple of weeks, I received an e-mail form onRebate.com that the claim was rejected because it cannot locate the original UPC/Barcode. I called onRebate.com to rebut my case. The representative put me on hold for a while and then told me he still could not locate the original UPC/Barcode.

I mentioned to him that the original UPC/Barcode was taped on the rebate form and I have a copy of the rebate form with the UPC/Barcode on it. The representative was not willing to help me any further and did not offer any other suggestion for next step. Since I have already sent my original UPC/Barcode, I am not sure what to do from this point.

Below is a summary of your rebate registration information:

Rebate Offer: UL-2950
Rebate Description: Ultra 512mb Secure Digital
Rebate Award: $18
Final Award: Final Reward $:17
Tracking Number: LXLX8XZD8HBHDYPV

This whole rebate process puts consumer at very difficult position where consumer has no way to resubmit or rebut the rejection if the company is not willing to work with you. I had much better experience with other rebate processing centers who were more willing to work with their customers.

OnRebate.com Thinks all its customers are crooks! Miami, Florida

OnRebate.com responded to my original complain and ask me to contact April Jackson for further assistance. I sent the following e-mail to this person yesterday, but I did not get any response. See my e-mail below.

========
Dear On-Rebate.com support:

Thank you for responding to my Rip-off file. I agree with your terms and condition, and I have no problem with that.

I do have problem, however, with your process of helping your customers to resolve a dispute. In this case, I have an evidence that show orignal rebate form with the UPC barcode taped to it. Since I already sent in the original UPC barcode, there is nothing else I can send you, except presenting you my evidence that is my photocopy of original rebate form with the UPC barcode.

It is really a simply case from my perspective. You can either think I am a crook and want to cheap you out of $17 rebate dollar, or you can take my word at good faith (of course, I will present you my evidence). I have never worked with a company who thinks all its customers are frauds or crook. In fact, most reputable companies will give their customers the benefit of doubt first.

It is really up to you and your company's policy in handling this case. I am spending far more valuable time than the $17 rebate dollar. It is really not about the money; it is about the principle of holding a company accountable for the service it offers.
