Found OptimalStack.com on line through a string of links from Men's Health, I believe. it was a "Free Trial" offer for which I was to pay $4.95 for shipping only. The "terms & conditions" were buried at the bottom of the page, so I didn't even notice them when placing my order for the "FREE sample." That was my mistake. After placing the order, I found them and reviewed them to discover that I was signing up for an autoship. In the T&C, it expressly stated that I could NOT cancel my order once placed. I had to wait til I received the product trial.

The 14 day trial started on the order date, not even the ship date, or the delivery date. I printed out a copy of the T&C and made a note at the top to call the company and cancel my autoship as soon as I received the product. Problem: The product never came. After 2 weeks, I called the company to track the shipment. The USPS shows it as delivered, but I never got it. That's when I found out my card had already been billed. I cancelled all future shipments, but was still dinged for the $89 for the "Free trial."

The identity of this company is well hidden. I learned that the call center is in Salt Lake City. The company (whatever its name) may or may not be there, I don't know. There is no corporate address, oddly, no complaints in top search results, and no whois lookup information that's public. This company has taken scam of a blind transaction to the highest, most professional level. The pages that referred me to the site were reputable, the quality of the landing/order page inspired confidence, but it's all a thin cover for a scam devised to separate people from their money by offering a FREE sample that takes almost as long to get to you as is the trial period, and then charges your card before you can stop it. I'm sure plenty of people have sacrificed $90 to this sham, so be warned.

I'm now in the hassle stage of trying to track the product so I can get it in hand and send it back for a refund. Failing that, I'll have to go to my bank to try to recover the funds paid with my VISA debit card. What a hassle! My fault for not being more careful but--scammed again!

Same thing happened to me

AUTHOR: kw - ()

POSTED: Monday, July 01, 2013

I have had to cancel my debit card.  They debited my account before even getting the product.  I agreed to pay the $4.95 shipping costs but never did agree to have the product auto shipped.  The card was debited before the product even arrived.  I contacted the company and was disconnected 5 times.  Still haven't gotten thru to them.  Anytone even thinking to use this company would be crazy.

False information

AUTHOR: hliz - ()

POSTED: Sunday, June 16, 2013

Do you realize you said "trial offer" "free trial" and "sample" ALL 3 of those things are so different. Nothing in this country is free, and there is always ties to something when you place an order online. Come on, if you thought it was a sample then why would you put in your credit card number. Also, the terms and conditions are not hidden, seeming as you have to accepted them twice before your order could even be processed through their system.

In the terms and conditions it clearly states "You are shipped out a full 30 day supply of the product and if you do not call to cancel with in 14 days from PLACING THE ORDER and get an RMA number and return information you will be billed 87.47." Now, if I was you and didnt see a package within 7 days, I would be calling the company right away.

And for those people who try and file bank disputes, you going to lose. The company has a legal binding contract that was accepted by you, your information was screen shotted. They have those documents for your bank. Now, your bank may refund you 87.47 up front, and then when they contact the company and realize you did a fraudulant dispute, they will charge you 20 dollars on top of taking back the 87.47, and the company will no longer give you a refund.

Now, if you order something and you dont read the terms and conditions then anything that happens if your own fault.

Not true

AUTHOR: Adcom - ()

POSTED: Friday, May 17, 2013

So according to this you have a free 14 day trial period before you purchase the product. And a 30 day money back guarantee from the time of purchase. But when you call there to get this 30 day refund, then they tell you the 30 days starts from the order date, not the purchase date. Even though it clearly states above that there is a free 14 day trial period before the purchase. I called the customer service and was basically told too bad. Then after arguing for awhile I was told to hold the line and they would give me the rma number and address where to send the product for a refund. But then he came back on the line and said sorry I can't retrun it. Total scam!!!

customer care comments are false

AUTHOR: anonymous - ()

POSTED: Wednesday, May 01, 2013

The "customer care" reps post on here that the free trial is 14 days and there is a 30 day money back guarantee. This is an outright lie! I ordered optimal stack 18 days ago and was charged the $87 for the bottle, i am not even close to satisfied. I called customer care after reading this comment and they said there is no refund or "30 day money back guarantee". Once your account is charged, you can cancel but they wont refund a dime. Who ever is posting this is blowing smoke. I just want to make sure that nobody else falls for this scam or believes this posters comments. They will not refund your money during the first 30 days, they will pretty much tell you "sorry about your luck but we have your money". Dont believe it, it is a LIE!

I fell for the same scam!

AUTHOR: vic - ()

POSTED: Tuesday, April 02, 2013

I would not fall for the whole scam! Its bad enough that they get you for $89 but if you dont cancell they will keep taking $89 a month! After they took my money I figured that okay the jokes on me then they sent me another bottle and were going to charge me again! I finally called and had to send the bottle back! They offered to let me keep the bottle for $45 dollars but I wasnt having it! I work out alot and I 6 pills left on my bottle, and trust me good ole working out and eating right is better than this! So save your money or just do better research on stuff before you buy! I thought I couldnt beat 4.95 but guess what they cant beat making easy money! Jokes on us!

hope its true

AUTHOR: dwfoxw - ()

POSTED: Thursday, March 28, 2013

I just placed an order for optimal stack. I hope all the hype is true but I'm worried that the site turned up to be a fake Mens Health magazine site. Where all links go to optimal stacks website. Searched mens health and not even a mention of opitmal stack.
I seen the fine print that I have 14 days to cancel and I hope its true. Also seen that your trial begins when you place your order not when it is delivered. Kinda sneaky if that's true.

Optimal Stack Customer Care

AUTHOR: Customer Service - ()

POSTED: Friday, March 22, 2013

Optimal Stack is dedicated to an extremely high standard of customer care and we are committed to wholly resolving any and all concerns that our customers may have about their purchase.  Our commitment to providing the highest quality service possible is reflected in the following policies:

- A 30-day money back guarantee.  If youre not satisfied with the product for any reason at all, simply let us know and well issue you a full refund.  No questions asked.

- A free 14-day trial.  We give our customers a generous trial period with the product so theyre able to try it before purchasing it.  Again, if for any reason at all youre not satisfied, please contact customer service and well cancel your account to ensure that youre charged nothing further.

Please note that while this is a free trial, it is not a free sample as mentioned above.   It wouldnt be viable for us to send out thousands and thousands of free bottles every month, but we can offer a trial period on the product so theres no risk for our customers and they have ample opportunity to try it to see if its right for them.  A large majority of our customers who take advantage of this free trial go on to take Optimal Stack month after month and they do so because they experience results.  It works.

These results are a reality of Optimal Stacks key ingredients a proprietary blend of Taurine, Beta Alanine, Caffeine, Arginine, and Alpha-Ketoglutarate that was designed to boost stamina, strength, intensity, energy, and focus.

Our corporate mailing address:

Optimal Stack
6330 North Washington Street #8
Denver, CO 80216

Our website:

http://www.optimalstack.com

And lastly, please call us.  1-866-330-2928.  Our customer care department is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and we want to hear from you.

Thank you for your time, thank you for your interest in Optimal Stack, and we look forward to helping you achieve your fitness goals.

Best Regards,

Optimal Stack, Corporate

Side note:  Bruce mentioned that the product never arrived, but also mentioned that USPS tracking confirmed delivery.  In a situation like this, before we offer a courtesy reshipment, we first ask the customer to provide his or her local post office with the tracking number so they can locate the whereabouts of the package.  We regret that this is a hassle, but we also understand that there are, unfortunately, people who claim that a package never arrived when it has.  When tracking confirms delivery, we like to follow up with the postal service as they can usually locate the package without further issue.
