Option One Collections called me at work on January 2, 2001 to notify me my mortgage payment was due January 1st. This was my first payment with their company. I told them I had a 15 day grace period and that they would receive their payment within that time.

This wasn't the answer they were hoping for so they threatened me by telling me my payment would go into foreclosure the 16th of the month, if the payment was not received by the 15th. I confirmed the payment would be received by the 15th and hung up on them.

I received four additional calls from Option One at my work, the second call was to confirm the first call and I was told the call was being recorded.

The collection rep repeated that they wanted the payment wired to them Western Union collect or an electronic transfer from my checking. Remember, this is my very first mortgage payment to Option One.

I eventually lost my job because they called me every mo., at least 18 calls per month prior to the 15th of the month, always threatening foreclosure. I wrote to Option One stating that in Washington State a home loan had to be 90-days in arrears prior to foreclosure action.

I reported them to the Better Business Bureau because I lost my job and now my mortgage payments were late because I had to coordinate payments with my unemployment checks. The mortgage payments were still made during the month that they were due.

Option One wrote to the BBB stating they would quit calling me. But this wasn't before Option One sent me a certified letter to tell me they were sending a representative to my home at my expense to investigate my property and to interview me -- for what?

I am refinancing my home loan, and having to pay enormous early payoff penalties to Opt. One. They are very uncooperative in providing a simple pay off amount to my new lender, (two months of their 'jacking' me around) asking for three times the correct payoff amount, plus late fees. I sent a personal check to them for my mortgage prior to the 15th of the month.

Realizing I was closing my loan with them, they sent it back to me on the 6-15 and demanded a cashier's check from me for twice the amount I had originally sent them! They also reported one 60-day late on my credit report at that time so I called them and spoke to a man with a mafia hit man voice named Robert.

I explained that they sent the check back to me and I had mailed it within the 15 day grace period. He said my cashier's check didn't arrive until 3 days after the 15th, so he had to be honest and report it. I believe Option One is just being vindictive because I reported them to the BBB. They gouged me by ruining my credit. I did not get the lower 30-year interest rate I had.

I now have another 2 year adjustable with that Ocwen Mortgage Compay!! After reading reviews on The Rip Off Report, I believe their track record is as bad, if not worse than Option One. I can't believe the employees that work at these companies can go home with a clear conscience, and sleep at night believing that they are doing the "right" thing.

I rest assured knowing that they will go to Hell when they die for the evil deeds they did, screwing others.
