The company OptumRX is a "required" option for my insurance company.  They lied about contacting me to refill a prescription that had been filled for a 90-day supply just 20 days ago.  They billed my credit card without authorization, and then had the nerve to be rude to me on the phone when I questioned why they had not contacted me.

They fraudulently documented on my account that they had left a message on the 19th of the month, informing me of the refill.  I have NO record in my phone of a call nor a voice mail.  There is NO message on the OPTUMRX website that a refill was going to be charged to my account, there was NO email that a prescription was being "refilled." 

They told me that it was MY responsibility to contact them if I did not want a prescription filled. I told them to remove my "required" credit card information from their system and never fill another script for me again.  The customer service reps, inicluding Sheena D (Lead) and Sue S (Supervisor) were horribly rude, and left me sitting on hold for more than 30 minutes.

I just wanted to add that the people on the phone are the furthest thing from pharmacy technicians on the planet.  To avoid paying the slightly higher salary of educated pharmacy techs, OptumRx is hiring people with ZERO, I mean ZERO experience in pharmaceuticals or the medical field to work in their "call centers".  They hire undereducated people in poverty stricken areas so that they can keep their wages low and reduce their overhead.

I know this for a fact because someone I know personally who barely finished high school, and lives in a town not too far from me, was just hired to work in a call center near their home.  This person has no job experience whatsoever but they and all the others like them handle your prescription calls. 

This practice should be outlawed it's dangerous and it scares the hell out of me.  If someone ends up dead because of incorrect medication, poor advice or a miscommunication I guarantee it will lead back to customer service and the complete and total lack of experience or education on the part of the people answering prescription questions, placing orders and resolving problems.

Store front pharmacies do not have undereducated people working behind the prescription counter for a reason.  Someone's life could very well depend on the propoer dispensing of medication.  I find the call center practices of OptumRx deplorable and I personally would NEVER put my prescriptions in the hands of any company who shows such disregard for public safety.

I just thought you and everyone else should know.
