I had a nearly new smart phone. I had only had it about 6 weeks when I got an Iphone as a gift. I wanted to sell the phone because it was in really good condition and I had no use for it. I used one of those offer search engines and OrangeOffer.com came back with an offer head and shoulders above the remaining sites. They also offered free shipping and payment via paypal which to me meant the transaction would be quick and easy. I shipped off my phone... dreaming about what I'd do with the cash.

They were very responsive at first with emails confirming delivery and how soon they'd get back to me with payment.

All of a sudden, my phone has "software issues" that it didn't have when I shipped it and now they were lowering the offer to 25% of what the initial estimate was. I wasn't going for this at all. I could have craigslisted it for at least three times what they were offering. I declined the offer as the instructions said. Got a confirmation email saying that I'd get it back in 7-10 business days.

Then a week later, I get an email from Paypal saying that the low balled payment amount is in my account. I was FURIOUS. I sent the support team an email attempting to sort it out. No response. In fact, when I logged into the "help desk" site two days later, they said my issue had been resolved. No one had contacted me. I still had no phone and the paltry sum they disbursed for my practically new phone. I sent yet another request. This time... when I logged in two days later, they said that there was no history of the "help ticket" # I'd submitted or the one before. Both issues had been deleted.

The sad thing is that there is no record of anyone else getting ripped off. I checked here and a few other sites to see if there were any scam reports prior to doing this. Not finding any I assumed I was dealing with a reputable establishment. After having my troubles. When I log into the site, I'm finding that there are others getting ripped off. DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE! You will lose your device and get a price much lower than what enticed you to use them in the first place. If anyone else has had a similar experience, I'd love to sue or at least get a camera crew or something out there so others don't get taken, because the site is still up and folks are probably getting taken by the second.

YOU need to be honest

AUTHOR: Woodrow1 - (USA)

I have submitted 7 phones there and have been paid for each one.  The problem with this complaint is some people lie or exaggarte that their phone is in good condition when it is actually damaged.  When I submitted mine I was very honest about two of them being damged per their guidelines.  If you don't follow those instructions or have some skewed idea of what is or is not damaged then that is your own fault.  They are clear about that on the site.  My phones which were in good condition got the full price.  My damaged phones which I SPECIFIED AS DAMAGED got the damaged price. People like to see what they can get away with in terms of sending phones into places like this and expect them to pay top dollar for broken and damaged items and then get mad when their broken items which they claimed were functional don't get the price they want.  I was hoenst about my phones and I got paid honestly by orangeoffer.com.

Persistance pays off

After writing the above report, filing a complaint with the BBB, posting on the company's facebook page, and notifying the company that I would next be informing the local news stations about my dealings with the company, all of a sudden, my issue was resolved and they agreed to pay the original quoted price.
