Page after page I am reading the same complaint. This is not the first time companies have got away with this type of action. I have seen it before and why does qwest allow it and why is'nt somebody doing something about it.

Is there a lawyer out there that want to start a class action lawsuit? I will be happy to get in on it. I am tired of being ripped off like this. I want some action done, by the government, A lawyer or somebody.

Why do we have to keep dealing with these types of companies. I want to scream I am so mad.

Unauthorized third party billing on my phone bill.

Third Party Charges Explained

AUTHOR: Jim - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, April 02, 2009

Due to the telecomunications act in the mid 90's it was made legal that any company that picks up a signal IE long distance cal could charge whatever they wanted. Unfortunately it is perfectly legal to do this and a hassle I agree. I would take 5 to 6 calls sometimes a day dealing with these and to get rid of it is a fairly simple process.

1. Call that company with the number on the bill.

2. When the person answers on the other end inform them you want these charges removed and credited immediately and that you want this account closed. If they give you ANY guff and I mean ANY play the "OK. If you do not do this immediately I will report you to the FCC for unfair business practices and they will deal with it from there." card. THAT will get that removed in a heartbeat sir. Trust me. Now if it is an internet type of charge it was caused by going through with some pop up on the internet or some sort of malicious page that got you to do something and in doing so u supposedly signed for their service. Same thing applies. Call them. Calling Qwest will only frustrate you because there is only one thing we can do. We have a page that you can have the rep fill out for you to make sure this does not happen again. We have a complete list of companies that we can choose from. When you do this make sure you get a loyalty rep here in the Sioux Falls office. Best way to do that is call 1 800 244 1111 and simply tell the voice prompt DISCONNECT. Keep doing so and it will get you to our office. When there ask them to fill out the form that clears that third party vendor from your bill. It will take a billing cycle or sometimes 2 or 3 but trust me they disappear and never reappear once all of this is done. A pain in the butt but you can thank the government on this one not your telephone company. Hope this helps you out Fred and spread the word if you can on this.
