I have not PURCHASED anything to put me over the limit amount they have allowed me to use; however, being close to the limit is just where they want you to be. Due the fact, Orchard (aka HSBC)tack on THEIR (not mine) finance charge at 30.49 percent to your balance, putting you over your credit limit by a few dollars, entitling them to now charge you an over the limit fee of $30.00, the VERY NEXT DAY!

in looking over some rebuttals in reference to other complaints similar to mine, no need for rebutters to tell me I should watch my credit limit, my responsibility, no the responsibility lies with the credit card companies, since they deceive people into believing they have a certain amount of credit still available, just LOOK at your own statement, regardless of your credit limit, for example if my limit was $1000.00 and I had used $980.00 according to that statement, in black and white it tells me I still have $20.00 credit available to be used.

If I used that credit as they say I can and I make my minimum payment as they say I can and then they tack on their astronomical finance charge, then guess what?? I'm over the limit by a few bucks and I'm being charged an over the limit fee again! and to top it all off, they put the over the limit fee under the PURCHASES category, so they can charge me finance charges on it, thus putting your balance now an additional $30.00 over your credit limit.

I did not PURCHASE this fee and I did not PURCHASE the finance charge, so they have no right to charge me this fee, since I did not PURCHASE ANYTHING over my allowed limit of credit. And for those who were able to get their fees credited, did they also credit you the finance charge amount tacked onto that fee or fees? I doubt it.

Plain and simple, all credit card companies are out of line with their greed and preying upon the lower and middle class citizens to make them their BILLIONS of dollars annually in just fees alone! We need to have government regulators stepping all over these companies constantly and judges who concur with the little man NOT the big boys! Maybe we need MORE judges fired!
