I had a high interest CC with Orchard - opened account in Oct. 2011.  July 2012, they hit me with yearly "member fees" of $60 - I emailed them immediately and told them to cancel the account, it hadn't even been 1 yr. since I paid the first time.  I also immediately paid off the account. 

I got an email back confirming they received payment, were closing the account immediately and they closed down everything (no internet access to the account, etc.)

9/21/12 I get a paper statement saying I owe them over $85 - account has been reopened, and they are charging me the member fee, late fees and interest. 

I emailed them yesterday - sent them a copy of the email (closing confirmation and proof of payment) - response "In order to maintain the security of your Account, we are not able to disclose specific account information unless you send your email using one of our secure online forms.  To access the online forms, go to our website and enter your Login ID and Password under Manage Your Account. 

Note that my account is closed - no access to the online account but I am supposed to either jump through a dozen hoops or call and sit online for hours with some overseas bimbo.
