Oreck Vacuum and Electronic Air filters: Refuse to cover their own warranty and Liability insurance.
I Purchased two electronic air filters-model # Oreck XL -AIR8B
Serial-0312167 & 0302309
Made in China
In 5-30-2004,made the purchase account #6995889-0 plan#978326
ordered silver colored units-stated-Two weeks maximum shipping time and in stock.
Final Ship Date:7-28-2004 then 8-28-2004(right color)
1) took Two Months to ship.
2) they sent the wrong color,shipped back, their Box was sent.30 Days
3) Recieved the two units
4) Oreck XL model#AIR8B worked very well until Parts failures-multiple
5) Oreck stated- money back garantee
3-5 year Warranty
Had Liability insurance
6) First unit failed in 7 months-called oreck asked for shipping box- Said:we dont ship for repairs-Customers expense- maybe service charge.Also Oreck -Cherry Hill Service center stated may be a charge and we dont send box. I stopped payments they said would take care of.sent payments
7) Second unit failed in 9 months,acrid smoke filled two rooms and chemical attached itself into paint. we could not sleep in these two rooms for a week,while clean and paint.

called again -oreck refused to send boxs to ship their warranted units,stated again we must take to repair center in different state-we live in philadelphia repair center is in East-Cherry Hill ,New Jersey
8) Because of orecks refusal to warranty and pay Liability i stopped the final payment.
9) 3 years later-Alphat collections sends me a bill-98.27
ref#1780086 / account #06995889

I sent them and oreck same bills i sent before plus new expenses:
A) please send- refund- 750.00 dollars for units
2 rooms damage-260.00 dollars-clean and paint-peter Painting
credit damage- 1000.00
50 hrs secretarial & phone call=1250.00
Total: 3260.00 dollars
Turned over to burt collect , they could not collect the damages

If any attorney in Philadelphia would like to take this case on contingency please let me know.

Gallwin, or whatever your name is, you can't be serious about your reply to the complaintant. If you are, you embody what is wrong in Oreck's corporate attitude with your shoddy "premium" products and poor customer service. The complaintant has been subject to a string of Oreck errors that are actually humorous, given his initial loyalty to your brand.  A company that cared would work to do the right thing for the customer, not stand behind fine print to deny doing the right thing. And, you are also incorrect about consumer remedy for defective products. In some states, halting payment is perfectly defendable in court. You may also be liable for damage caused by a faulty device no matter what your fine print says.


Shame on you in any case!

Oreck has crummy product--me too!

To the Oreck employee who responded, I am also an unfortunate owner of the AIR8B air purifier, and I will second the observation that this product is a piece of junk, specifically the blower motor. This "integrity" you talk about at Oreck apparently was overlooked when Oreck chose to use a cheap sleeve bearing in the blower motor rather than a more suitable long-life ball bearing, to save a few bucks when the Chinese cobbled this device together for you. You marketed this product as "Professional," but my air filter has gone through several blowers--about one every year to two years operating 8 hours/day. A company that had integrity would realize they had a design problem and work with customers to solve it. Oreck just puts out their hand for $200 more each time. I will NEVER buy another Oreck, and will recommend against it vehemently. You guys market well, but your product is cheap garbage.

Oreck Doesnt Honor Satisfaction Return Policy

Oreck vacuum since 2004 has failed to make arrangement on this insurance claim even though they have insurance to cover such claims, maybe I should call insurance commission to help Oreck pay this claim? What do you think. I still have the un-opened units waiting for oreck to ship boxes to me, funny part is Oreck shipped me two boxes to return the wrong color units for free ,funny dont you think, but they cant ship boxes for units that fail in less than a year???

Correct Warranty Information

I have been an Oreck consumer for almost 4 yrs and also an employee for about a year.  I want to give you a heads up on the actual legal warranty information.


The warranty that is expressed by the company in the user manual implies the machine is warranted against defects in material and workmanship.  However, there is no terms stated in the warranty on shipping coverage.  By law, this means that the company is in no way required to pay for any shipping charges or packaging.


The warranty work for this company is actually done through retail locations across the US, either Oreck owned, franchised, or authorized as a retailer.  This means the warranty work is done at one of these locations.  Since shipping to a location is not implied in the warranty statement, it is the consumer's legal responsibility to get the merchandise to the service location.


In regards to the collections, even a defect in the product doesn't by law void the consumer's obligation to pay what is owed to the company.  The extra charges that are collected by collections agencies are any legal fees, lawyers fees, and fees from the collections agency itself, which the consumer sent to collections is also obligated to pay by law and can be held up in court of law.


I am not saying anything against any damages that were caused to you, but the warranty, shipping, and the collections that you mentioned are perfectly legal by law.

Oreck hires personnel and professional complaint removers-100

Oreck Electronic Air Filters and Vacuums has hired Professional
Complaint removers and Rebuttal People-to restore their reputation!!
If they would have used this money for Qaulity parts
-such as :
1) motor with lubricated-neoprene sealed bearings

2) transformers-high voltage-commercial-with breaker or fuse.

3) proper high voltage insulators-that can tollerate some dirt

4) proper laquered transformer wire, properly sized for U.S. Voltages.

5) proper Openings to clean adequately Blower wheel and Electrical Areas, as presently dust blows and accumulates all over internal parts. Problem is Oreck voids warranty if you open to clean these areas!! poor engineering!

6) Oreck Service Centers clearly states on phone-customer will be responsible for total bill,if find non-warranty problem.
What if Warranty bad parts damage rest of the unit!
Even though warranty is unconditional!!! return.

7) pat in Oreck Liability Area-pat@oreck.com- states will not send boxes or pay for shipping. Hope Pat doesnt get fired for conveying to customers what she is instructed to respond,although she knows complaints number in the thousands.

Oreck-refuses to pay liability claim

6-25-09-Still recieving calls from Alpat collections for balance of 98.00 last payment.
Stopped payment three times!!!
Called Pat in Oreck Claims-6-24-09- says to send units to oreck for examination!!! When asked when Shipping boxes be Delivered she says Customer must pay!!!
Have Unconditional return warranty 5 years.
Oreck promised to repair units and take care of damages!!!
Then refused to send Shipping Boxes to send units to service center in Cherryhill ,NJ. Service center.
Stated that Customer must pay 43.00 dollars to ship to repair center, even though units failed at 7 months then other unit at 9 months. Units were cleaned as instructed once a week!!! Even used Oreck Cleaner and Hair Dryer to make sure filter Dry before Starting Unit!!!
Both myself and My son have serious allergies,
I am asking for only Return of Money for units, Cleaning and Painting two rooms that I payed for!! and compensation for lost work time, now 500 hours answering collections, 4 years of calls and harrasement for 98.00 dollars that I dont owe!!!!!!and trying to Get Oreck to pay a fair claim, for using sub-standard parts from korea and china!!!!Appears transformers are Defective.
2000 complaints on the Internet!!!
Still have untouched and unopened(service) XL-AIR8B units-serial#0312167 and 03102309 for forensic examination!!!

Sounds like a competitor to me. I've been with the company for over a year now and I can tell you there are no companies out there with greater integrity than Oreck. If you even own any Oreck, read the warrantee information. You make up all the phony charges you want but your claims are clearly out of bounds. Anything within the terms of the warranty is always hornored quickly and without question in my experience. You are just trying to make other companies look bad because whatever you are can't stand on it's own. See it on YouTube all the time.

You can't expect a collector to collect something for which there is no case and you can't expect any reputable attorney to take a case like that.
I suggest you find a product that can stand on it's own so you don't have to bad mouth others.
