I ordered the "Candice Olson Waterproof 300 Thread Count Mattress Pad ", and instead recived a pad tagged "WynRest". I complained to a customer service rep at overstock, who offered to send a replacement pad and credit me $10 back for my trouble. He also made clear that they would make a note to double check the replacement pad before it was to be delivered.

I never got that $10 store credit, and when I got the replacement pad, i noticed the package had been opened and resealed, and inside was the same "WynRest" pad, except this time the tag indicating that to be so was removed.

I contacted Overstock again, and let them know I got the same pad, except this time someone tried to cover up the fact that is is a cheaper pad, and not the Candice Olson pad. My concern that there was never a Candice Olson pad was ignored once again, and they actually gave me that store credit this time.

But my biggest concern is that this is what Overstock does. They pull the bait and switch scam, and poorly try to cover their tracks by tampering with product labels.

I warn all overstock customers to either shop elsewhere or check product labels if possible. I know this isn't the first time I have received a item not labeled so I never knew whether it was the correct item or not. This time, they didn't get the initial label removed, so I caught them in the act.

Further Information on Pads from Overstock

AUTHOR: AntiScams - ()

POSTED: Wednesday, May 15, 2013

To assure others that they are the same pad, except one has the "WynRest" tag removed, I am including photos.

Also I wish to make clear that while they were the wrong pads, they were packaged in the box labeled for the "Candice Olson Waterproof 300 Thread Count Mattress Pad." (see photos)

After the first delivery, I asked the customer service rep from Overstock to check item numbers to verify it's not a pad labeled with two different names, but the same item number, and they are not.

The numbers I have for indication  on the pads received reads RN# 130833. This is that required by law tag that remains on both delivered pads. They are also marked as being distrubuted by "Allied Home LLC"

But the pad is supposed to have the catalog number of # 14697589.

The box is labeled with the correct model number for the item I bought: Model No:MP001044.  (comp# MP001044c)
