Oxmoor Hyundai ripoff should change their name to "GREEDMORE" Hyundai Louisville Kentucky

I am an 87 year old retired registered nurse and widow. I bought the 2000 Elantra brand new in 1999 in NJ and moved to KY in 2003. I have been the sole driver and have only put 25,000 miles on this car in 7 years and the only time I have opened the rear windows was once when I hit the wrong button by mistake. Well recently my son who was thinking of buying a Hyundai drove the car and opened the rear windows - both of them failed in one week. When we took it to Oxmoor Hyundai they wanted to charge $69 per window just to diagnose the problem. My son said to the service arrendant that service has to know what the problem is because we can't have the only Elantra that had this problem and since there was virtually no use of the windows it had to be a faulty design or motor and service should be familiar with this specific problem. The service man assured us that they were not aware of any such recurring problem with the back windows but after trying the windows he said he would only charge a diagnosis fee for one window. He called us later and said it would cost $375 per window to replace the window regulators. That would be $69 for the diagnoses (which I know now was unnecessary} and $750 to repair both windows.

We called another Hyundai dealership and asked service, as we did at Oxmoor, if this was a known problem on this model. That service person there said they didnt know but we should ask the service manager and transferred us on the phone. He told us immediately what was the likely problem and quoted $90 in labor for each door and transferred us to parts where we were quoted $217.54 each for parts 83401 83402 a total repair price over $138 less than the Oxmoor Hyundai dealership we went to (without a diagnoses fee which is another $69 savings). I wonder why Oxmoor's laborer would even bother to take the door apart to see since they are absolutely and definitely familiar with the problem and if so what did I pay $69 for. We could not find any evidence on the doors that they were taken apart.

Although the service man was polite and courteous I feel I have been deceived or at least taken advantage of by Oxmoor GREED after finding multiple websites with huge numbers of window problems exactly like mine reported for my model car. No one in my family will ever recommend to anyone or buy another Hyundai product let alone use Oxmoor Hyundai.

I sent a letter of complaint to the management and to Hyundai but never recieved an answer and although they repeatedly begged us to give them a positive review when their customer satisfaction surveyor called we never recieved a survey call because they changed our address and phone number on the receipt the survey co gets so they couldn't contact us.

I suspect from reading the complaints against Oxmoor Toyota, another company of many in the Oxmoor group owned by Tracy Farmer which includes Star Ford, Oxmoor Hyundai, Oxmoor Mazda, Oxmoor Toyota, Oxmoor Isuzu, Oxmoor Lincoln Mercury, Oxmoor Collision Center, and Oxmoors Hyundai of Louisville, they are all under the same greedy management! WATCH OUT!!!!
