We transported automobiles for his company and have not been paid.We spoke to the owner several times about paying us.He has of yet to pay.

This company is as low as they come.He told the owner of this company that he really didn't care if he ever paid him.

I can't believe this person sleeps at night with the crocked things he does.

Please if you are going to ship your car, do not use these crooks.

Avoid Transport Hassles

AUTHOR: Jeanne - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, February 15, 2003

I work for an auto transport company that actually owns the trucks that transport and I hear these horror stories all the time from new customers who used AAAAdvatnage and other companies in the past.

AAAAdvantage out of Tempe AZ is a BROKER.They own a few trucks but the majority of their work is sub-contracted out.

A word on how this works:
You call and book your car to be transported. You give them your credit card number. Many of these brokers will tell you what you want to hear so they can get that card number. They fax actual trucking companies a list of the cars they have booked and the dates those people want to be transported.(they have even moved to the web trying to find companies to move your car) In turn, trucking companies call the broker and tell them when they can have a transport available to pick up the vehicle. Your dates and the trucking company dates will not always be the same. If no company has room to move your car, you don't get picked up when you want and the car sits. meanwhile, your credit card has been billed and you are stuck because the fine print that you probably did not bother to read shows a cancellation/administration fee. These companies know they have you over a barrel.

Another warning about AAAAdvantage, they do not pay these trucking companies on time and if you read the fine print, you have no recourse if the trucker decides to hold your car for ransom until AAA pays them. They have about 30-45 days to deliver your car to you. We quit moving cars for them because they owed us thousands of dollars and it took over two years to get paid.

Questions to ask when you are shopping for auto transport: (note, not everyone will tell the truth)

#1 WHO owns the truck that is coming for your car and WHAT name will be on the truck?

#2 IF your vehcile is damaged, WHO is liable? Is the company you are booking with responsibe or are they giving it to someone else who will be responsible? (ie: sub-contractor)Are you responsible for their deductible? (note: you should NOT be responsible for their deductible)

#3 What does "door to door" mean to this company?
will the truck come in front of my home or will I have to meet the truck somewhere else? Do not let them give you the standard answer of "they will if they can" Most transporters with LARGE trucks will refuse to come in front of your home.

#4 Will the actual transport truck pick up my vehicle or will a flatbed/rollback pick it up and take it to a drop yard where it will wait for an available transport?

There are many other questions you can ask but those main questions are good to start with. Do not always shop for the cheapest price, you get what you pay for. You have a lot invested in your vehicle, a cheap fly by night company who gives you the best price may be out of business (or changed their name) before you can claim damages.

have hauled for O-A-T

AUTHOR: Jeanne - (U.S.A.)

The company I work for has hauled cars for O-A-T for the past 9 years. They had one bad stretch where we had to wait for our money but the owner agreed to make payments to catch up (which he did) and we never had to turn him over for collections and we still haul cars for him to this day
