P I & I Motor Express blackballed my dac report making it impossible to get new job as a driver. Masury Ohio

My name is Robert and I had worked for PII motor express for 3 months. I am a experienced steel hauler with 9+ years steel hauling experience.

When I first signed on with PI & I, I told them specifically that I was going through a 21 year divorce and had 6 children. I let them know both verbally and in writing that I had court dates that I had to keep, and Was insured that It wouldn't be any problem.

I had also signed up as a Regional Driver, not as an OTR driver. Needless to say I was treated as an OTR driver in many instances. The dispatcher and I had many disagreements about having to take time off for Divorce related appointments. These as I stated were already noted but not taken seriously.

My last load that I had with P I & I, was a return load comming back from North Carolina to Fort Wayne, IN. There had been two fatal accidents on I65 which shut down the Highway all together. I had explained the situation to the customer who assured me that everything was ok, and rescheduled the delivery from Friday to Monday.

Night dispatch was ok with the situation but had to get verification for me to come back to the yard from the VP of the company.

Explaining the situation over and over, the VP said that the "Court" wouldn't care if I didn't keep my appointment. When I explained to the night dispatch the sensitivity of the issue, he said that the VP told him to tell me to enjoy the weekend where I was, and that i had a choice to stay there and blow off the court issue, or bring the truck back to the yard and give a voluntary resignation.

I didn't have any choice in the matter and brought the truck back to the terminal and kept my appointment.

I was charged for fuel for bringing the truck back, which I knew they were going to do, and didn't have a problem with it.

Everything that belonged to the company was returned.

I have since tried getting a job with a different company and was asked, If I had seen my DAC report lately?

Here P I & I motor express had put on my dac report that I had the following.

Violated company policy.
Missused company equipment.
Misuse of company funds.

This is completely bogus, If I had abandoned the truck somewhere, then that would be correct. However, when told that I had a "CHOICE", of which I could do, then this is where this company has drawn the line.

You don't go and play games with a CDL holders DAC report when It is there lifeline in the trucking industry. This is something that is done to destroy a drivers creditability for serious issues that cannot be resolved.

When I contacted P I & I motor express about this issue and explained the situation, and how it could be resolved to retore my DAC report. I was told that "they were not about to change it".

I would like to know if this has happened to anyone else besides myself. I seen one other complaint, but I know there is probably more.
