Im 19 years old and i just got my driver license. So i went into what i thought was a reputable used car dealership. To get a reliable car to get me back and forth, to and from school and both of my jobs. I put $1000 cash down on a 1999 Nissan Pathfinder. It was disclosed to me that there was nothing wrong with this vehicle. But when i was advised to get the car inspected, i found out that there are major things wrong with this car. The radiator has a hole in it, it needs new brakes and there are some other problems. I contacted this dealership the same day i purchased tha car (11-13-09) to let them know that i was unhappy with it and that i wanted my money back. Pacific Coast Motors has been ignoring my calls and i even took the car back on 11-16-09 with no luck in getting my money or a decent car. They told me theres nothing they can do. After filing a complaint with DMV, the dealership called me back and offered to fix the car, and a
pologized for selling me a bad car. So after them telling me to bring the vehicle in to fix it, they told me my car would be ready in 24 hrs. So i called back the following day to see if the vehicle was ready, this is when the salesperson told me i would have to pay an additional $200. When she clearly told me the day before to not worry about this additional downpayment. I have a voice recording where the salesperson told me that i no longer had to pay for additional down payment. So they have the car & my $1000 and im stuck in an upside down loan for almost $16,000 with no transportation to and from work and school. There has to be something that could be done about this situation. I would appreciate if i can be helped in any way. Thank you

To whom it may concern,

The situation with the 1999 Nissan Pathfinder has been resolved.  As of December 31, 2009 customer has purchased a different vehicle, this time a 2008 model.

All monies have been applied to the new loan.  Said customer is happy with the outcome.  Any questions comments or concerns please email me at admin@pacificcoastmotors.org
