I ran across this company through research, and wanted to share with readers some usefull information.

First of all, this Southern California company was founded in 2005, yet they claim 20 years of experience on their website.

Interestingly, there is another company in Northern California that was founded in 1992, that also claims 20 years experience, but this other company actually has the experience to back up their claims.  With the similar touted claims, both companies being in the same business(Durable Medical Equipment), it appears as if the company located in San Juan Capistrano, CA., is attempting to confuse consumers into believing they are the same company as Pacific Medical, Inc.

If the above listed facts don't seem suspicious, there's more.  The company located in Southern California has an employee named Eric Hatteberg, the company Director of Sales, Corporate Relations.  According to Orange County Superior Court records, Eric has an extremely long criminal history consisting of numerous felonies and nearly a dozen misdemeanors accumulated over only a 10 year span.  Some separate charges span only a day from the previous distinct charge.  Why would any reputable company chose an employee with such a storied history to occupy such position of authority?  Considering Eric's past criminal behavior, this company's historical claims seem like par for the course.

To his benefit, he looks good in a suit, but that's all I can see, and I know he does not keep his word when he agrees to call one back, specifically me.Buyer beware.

Update: More dishonesty

AUTHOR: Scoobysteven - ()

To further punctuate this company's tendency to stretch the truth, not surprising considering its founders and management all stem from subprime mortgage, review the following facts.

Their website claims ISO 9001 certification, in addition to a medical ISO certification 13485, to boast industry capabilities, but when one visits SGS, the governing and regulatory body's website to confirm, not surprising, their claims prove untrue.  Not surprising considering the background of this company's founders and management.

It seems, this company buys pallets of equipment deemed obsolete by the large hospitals that sell them.  For instance, Pacific Medical might buy a huge pallet of 40 injection pumps from a hospital that upgraded their perfectly working machines simply because the retiring machines lacked a feature of function that a hospital might need, while other consumers might not.  So Pacific Medical buys this pallet for say, $.10 on the dollar, most if not all machines functioning as designed.

Pacific Medical now forwards these machines to a copy contracted to "refurbish" the items.  THIS IS THE COMPANY WITH THE CERTIFICATIONS, NOT PACIFIC MEDICAL.  Pacific medical is just their customer.  What Pacific Medical is going in their claims would be like me claiming to be a lawyer because my father is a judge.  ISO certification does NOT descend from its source as this company claims, anyone familiar with ISO understands this.  This company merely attempts to confuse familiarity(with actual certified associated vendor) with actuality.

Their "refurbishing" vendor essentially cleans the device with say 409 and a toothbrush, replace any defective batteries(if unit uses such), then boxes the unit with a print copy of manual available from the internet, then ships items back to Pacific Medical.

Now having stocked products for sale, products deemed obsolete according to origin's hospital asset disposition department, these items are listed for sale at maybe 80% original MSRP, remember they paid maybe 10%.  Because these items are considered obsolete, their pricing, in terms of value, is quite more.  To make matters worse, their familiarity with health insurance benefits and coverage indicate their propensity to charge more for the product they sell, compared to its worth, yet low enough in price so that the consumer doesn't have to contribute beyond their deductable, and the insurance provider will pay for the device in full, again, despite being a poor value.  Much like the pharmacy that sells a generic drug for 90% of the original, despite bearing only 30% of the original drug's cost.

Some might argue this company's marketing creativity might reflect a sound group of business professionals operating within a free market economy.  If not for the outright lies with respect to certifications and experience, I might agree.  What else might they be lying about?

"False Claim"? Why so?

AUTHOR: Scoobysteven - ()

Ok, here we go.  I was going to ignore your response, but could not resist the temptation to point out several inconsistencies.  First of all, the author of the first rebuttal titles her/his claim "FALSE CLAIM", as if yelling the statement will somehow, magically, make it true.  In my original post, I made the following claims based on publically available data verifiable to all who read and have an internet connection.  They are:

1. Pacific Medical LLC claims 20 years experience, yet their website admits founding in 2005.

2. Pacific Medical LLC claims suspiciously mirror those of another company named Pacific Medical, Inc.  Though both companies market similar products, only the latter has the 20 years experience both companies claim on their websites.

3. Pacific Medical LLC entrusts their title of "Director of Sales" to one Eric Hatteberg, a documented career criminal with multiple recent misdemeanor and felony convictions(11 misdemeanors and 4 felony arrests/convictions since 1996 but whose counting?)

Not only did the respondent fail to address any of my verifiable claims, they attempt to minimize my true and factual claims by suggesting that because I am not a customer, my opinion should be disregarded by default.  I especially like how the contributor fails to list his or her name or title.

As for Mr. Hatteberg, his limited career description, as illustrated on his LinkedIn page, mentioning only your company as career employers.  This suggests he lacks pride in his past professional accomplishments.  A 40 so year old member of company senior management devulging only 3 years of their nearly 20 years career history should be interpreted as suspicious, but I'll let the reader decide for themselves.  I haven't even gotten into his past employment as a subprime mortgage brokerage salesman.  Mr. Hatteberg is NOT a redeemed felon, he's just in between crimes.  Eric, next time keep your word and call me back!

#3 UPDATE Employee ..inside information

AUTHOR: Pacific Medical LLC - ()

The above report was not written by a customer, but by an person who recently sought employment with our organization.

Pacific Medical is as an equal opportunity employer.  We are proud of our employees who have motivated themselves to be successful leaders.

It is unfortunate people spend time and energy to make a rip-off report when they are not consumers.  Pacific Medical stands behind the integrity of its business practices and wishes the best for those whom they do not employ.
