We researched several moving companies before we decided the easiest, least expensive route would be containers we packed ourselves.

We choose Pack and Ride because Jeff Farleigh was so reassuring, constantly telling us not to worry everything would be fine.

It was a stressful, sad time in our lives and we needed to hear those simple words of reassuance.

We told Jeff we needed 2 containers and he insisted on sending us 3 "just in case". He told us we would only be charged for the containers we actually used.

We filled, marked and labeled containers #4 and #8. We then contacted Jeff on 11/28/06 to pick up the filled containers and told him we had only used 2 of the 3.

He said once again, "no problem don't worry about it, theres no charge for containers you don't use".

We were caught in bad weather on our way to our new home, but none the less, we stayed in constant contact with Pack and Ride.

Once again we were reassured everything was fine and the containers would be held for as long as we needed. The original agreement offers 1 month free storage with the rental of conatiners.

On December 18th we received a phone call from a delivery driver saying she was "right around the corner" from our new address and would be delivering our belongings.

We immediately called Jeff and told him this is not acceptable as we have not even closed on the house yet. When he returned our call he asked if we could have our things delivered somewhere else because the driver was within a couple miles of our new place.

This put us in a quandry and we had no choice but to hurry over and see if our containers could be delivered early.

The previous owners reluctantly agreed ~ what an awful situation! They were NOT happy because they were also moving out at the same time.

Now that we have moved into the house, Pack and Ride has picked up the containers. We checked our charges and guess what?...yup..you guessed it!!? They charged us for all 3 conatiners even though we actually asked for and used only 2.

We called Jeff yesterday and he denies it all, doesn't know what we're talking about. blah blah blah. This has been totally unbelieveable. These guys are scammers!

We have filed a complaint with the Federal Motor Carriers Administration and the Richmond Virgina BBB. We intend to persue this within every means of the law.

They have a Federal MC #523313 listed on their website but no record of them or that number on the FMCA's website. https://www.1-888-dot-saft.com/

Beaware of Jeff "the silvered tongued devil" and watch for Frank's act ~ he doesn't know anything about anything.

The Richmond Virginia BBB lists Frank Cordi as the President of Pack and Ride.

Pack and Ride was a dream come true

We used Pack and Ride for our long distance move in July. Jeff Farleigh was courteous and very helpful. We had a 28 ft trailer delivered to our house in MA, called them to let them know when they could pick it up and left for our cross country trip. We were able to check on the progress of our trailer from the road. They delivered the trailer to us in AZ as promised. They even worked with us when we needed to keep the trailer longer due to a flood in our new home. Jeff and his staff put us at ease and we couldn't be more grateful. We will recommend and use Pack and Ride in the future!!

This customer has gone well past decency and into parody. Her claims are false and her behavior irrational. She lost in arbitration. Nonetheless, she continues to libel our firm. This hardly meets the standard of solid, productive criticism required by this website.

Her paranoid tone regarding the links on her original complaint is a good example of her thinking: Only the owner of this website would be able to insert those links; and even though they are directed at our competitors, she obviously hopes to connect the nefarious dots to us.

At this point, she has probably discredited her own argument by behaving in this way. Those who are fair-minded will see this for what it is: An unreasonable person who is willing to say anything for the emotional gratification it gives her.

...sounds like Pack and Ride has a new spokesperson...Gerard. Please, Please, PLease, Do Not use these people. Don't even think about calling them, they are nothing but conmen. It seems strange there are clickable links on my original complaint that actually advertise moving services...? Very Strange indeed.

As a customer of Pack and Ride, I am satisfied with the move and service that they provided. I would use Pack and Ride again if I was to move, and would encourage others to consider using them as their mover of choice for household goods.

Jeff Farleigh and staff have been helpful in meeting my expectations and moving needs. They have made efforts to understand what I need and have made a concious choice to provide a good customer service experience.

As with any move, there will be instances where efforts are made to clarify, and reclarify details. This was the case with Pack and Ride. Pack and Ride never-the-less pulled through and delivered my goods in a condition that was more than satisfactory, within a reasonable time. They also were able to accomadate my budget, and were committed to meeting my expectations.

Unfortunately, this customer cannot accept the fact that she was wrong, and has chosen to continue her fight by intentionally repeating false and damaging claims. Among the documents she claims not to have seen are the printouts of the online quote forms she herself filled out. Our evidence included phone records proving that she had not called us when she claimed she had. The bottom line is that this woman didn't get her way, so she retaliates by throwing a public tantrum. By now, a reasonable and fair-minded person should have a pretty good sense of whether her claims are valid or not, but I'm sure there will be more selective and misleading commentary to come.

Pack and Ride Still Scammers and BBB is a racket too!

We went to arbitration with the BBB and Pack and Ride....guess what? BBB ruled in Pack and Rides favor! We could not believe the whole thing! Their "evidence" was a page of hand written notes. Notes and numbers we had never seen before ~ so once again Pack and Ride scams us and wins! We had fair warning about the BBB process through this website but felt we had no other recourse for recovering the money Pack and Ride scammed us out of...BBB was a mistake and a waste of time!

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE be forewarned! DO NOT USE PACK AND RIDE! They are nothing but scammers! Our only hope now is they will eventually be put out of business. Its called Karma!

As far as the BBB goes ~ we were warned ~ for the last time we have tried to find help from them ~ never again! I will tell everyone the BBB is a racket too! What would I expect differently coming from a for profit business that works for its paid customers!? An honest effort at fairness would of been great!

Okay, Okay, I learned my lesson the expensive way...Don't you be scammed too!!! Learn from our mistakes and stay away from anything to do with Pack and Ride or the BBB! THANK YOU RIPOFF REPORT!!! for giving us an opportunity to voice our opinion! AND PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT USE PACK AND RIDE FOR ANYTHING TODAY TOMORROW OR EVER!

This dispute went to arbitration, and the ruling was completely in Pack & Ride's favor. The inflammatory accusations were unfair and damaging to our company and to the individuals named, yet they will survive on this web site in perpetuity. This posting is to set the record straight for those who might otherwise believe the allegations.

I have checked the FMC website but have not yet looked under the License and Insurance link yet. I will do that asap - Thank You very much!

Yes, they have taken over $2800 from our debit account.

The paperwork says we will pay them $1428 when they drop off our containers to be packed. Then another $1428 at delivery if we use all 3 containers.

It also states we will only we charged $100 for any container we do not use.

Pack and Ride is denying we ever called and told them we had only used 2 containers.

They said they will not refund anything to us because we filed a fraudulent complaint with ripoffreport.com and slandered their reputation.

Also that we were "misleading" in that we never told them we had only used 2 containers.

The TRUE story

This is not the forum to argue all the details. The short story is that this customer did not notify us that one container was empty until AFTER we moved it across country and incurred the same expenses as if it had been full.

Our $100-only fee for unused containers applies only if we can return the container BEFORE it's shipped to the customer's destination. Hardly a scam.

The claims made against us are misleading and unfair. Worse, the personal attacks on the two individuals who handled this move are unnecessary and insulting -- something I understand is not tolerated on this web site.

(Quick clarification: I am a minority owner of this company, but the options I was given did not allow for that choice.)

Pack & Ride is a licensed Property Broker. You have to look under the License & Insurance link at the DOT website, brokers don't have Carrier Snapshots.

Have you paid them anything yet? Even for the two containers? Do you have paperwork for them, and what does it say?
