I got a letter from Palisades Collection for a phone number i had with Verizon over 7 years ago that i know was paid.  I did file an official complaint with the attorney general as there is know way I owe Verizon any money esp from this long ago.

not correct info

AUTHOR: Keith - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, July 31, 2012

I think whats even more scary is how outfits like Palisades can attempt to collect on (supposed) debts with such inaccurate info. Account's not mine to begin with, and for an address where I've never lived. I've been with ATT & have had the same phone # for 30+ years so it shouldn't be that difficult to figure out they're chasing after the wrong debtor. Yet some folks fall for these calls & pay up in hopes of making the calls stop. Apparently fishing (as ATT calls it) pays off.

Thanks for the update. If filing with our states attorney general works, then I probably need to pay more attention to the details when the next Palisades robo-call comes in. So I can provide the AG with a call back# & their account reference number.

Hey Keith. The attorney general in pa fixed it for me. They called Pallisades and had them completely remove it from their records and take it off my credit report.  You just have to call into them alot.

I've also reported Palisades Collections to the Attorney Generals office too - via an online report from their website but I've never heard anything back from them. Presume they get a pile of reports & maybe someone looks them over and then again maybe not. Hopefully if there's a growing pile of reports on Palisades Collections someone might investigate.

The Ripoffreport forum is a good way to connect with others & update the info in case something does get done about Palisades. Over the years we have made a difference reporting here & other places - after a time another fraudulent collection agency -Camco- was taken down by the feds. So we can do it!
