This company "PALISADES CREDIT" reported a false claim that my wife owes money on an ATT credit card, she never had an ATT card!! They added a negative report to her credit report. She has never paid a bill late!

I think what they are doing is 100% FRAUD, they are adding false allegations to people's credit reports across the nation using a large company like ATT credit and hitting people for less than $1,000.00, so that people with excellent credit call and just pay PALISADES CREDIT the money to remove the debt and fix their credit reports! I think the company is falsely keeping 100% of the monies, they could hit 1000 credit reports a month and if 50% of them pay them off for $600.00 average this is $30,000.00 a month of FRAUDULENT MONIES FOR THIS SHAME COMPANY!!!! They need to be stopped, contact the FTC, the FCC, the New Jersey Attorney General, The FBI, the CIA, the US Marshalls, the Secret Service and any other Government agency that fights civil and criminal fraud!!!!!!

#2 Consumer Suggestion

Palisades is a junk debt buyer. They purchase old, very old bad debt portfolios for a penny or less on the dollar.

Chris, here's what happened ,,,

Most of the "debts" they are collecting are NOT for a client, they are collecting for themselves. They own the debt, but they name the original creditor as required by law.

Sometimes these files are missing SS#, DOB, address, etc.. So the collectors mail these notices to everyone with a name that resembles yours, and calls everyone with your last name, etc..

They are fishing, trying to validate a debt.

Also understand that paying it does not remove it from your credit report. Paying it will cause it to remain 7 more years from the date of payment as a paid collection.

The only way to remove it from your credit report is to dispute it. And file an FTC complaint, as well as a lawsuit for damages.

Unfortunately, none of these things they do are criminal, they are civil matters.

File the FTC complaints and also sue.

Same Thing Happened to Me ..Some non-existent account from ATT just popped up on my credit report.

Never heard of them, never contacted me, never gave me a chance to dispute under the FDCPA.

I'm reporting this to the FTC and the FBI, as well as the New Jersey attorney general's office. I think these people will be fit for orange jumps suits very soon.
