I bought an 60,000 mile extened maintenace plus gold premium plan for $1,700 which comes with an extensive list of covered items and services to be performed for the 60,000 miles or 48 mos. This is a 2006 Nissan Sentra SER Spec V model.

Road Hazard for the factory tires was included and stated in the written policy booklet. A damaged tire (pothole damage etc) is replaced and the customer may be a partial cost based on percentage of wear and tire tread remaining at time of replacement. Also, minor items such as worn wiper blades replaced free.

Then Nissan denied that any such replacements are ever covered under the extended plan! They showed me tires damaged from road hazard (bubbles in the sidewall...) and said to buy new tires. They showed me worn wiper blades and said to buy new ones. But again claimed the extended maintenacne plans do not include any replacements or adjustments, but only lube, fluid and oil changes.

I held off on the wiper blades but had to replace damaged tires and finally went to America Tire Co and bought a full set of new tires as I cannot keep to replacinge Nissan's factory tires that frequently get road damage. I have in the past found that America Tire unlike Nissan does honor its road hazard policy. Tires are expensive on this Nissan and I need the road hazard policy and I need a company that will honor the policy they sell me.

Nissan North America refuses to respond although they have a consumer affairs number where they ask you to file a complaint and tell you to please use this service before taking any action on my part, to give them a chance first. But after 2 months still NO ANSWER. So I asked the BBB and they said cancel the extened policy with Nissan immediately and at least get a refund off the future unused portion. Of course Nissan will try to charge me for the last several months pf the policy that I was dealing with Nissan North America and delayed action at their insitence (and didn't use the policy either). And they charge $50 cancellation fee even though they broke the contract, not me.
