Purchased used MC vehicle on 10/19 only to have it fail to start 2 days later.  Shop unwilling to pick back up for 4 days.  Finally when in shop, told they were too busy with 4 wheelers needed for "deer hunting" to work on my new purchase.

The following week told by Service Manager problem had been found and parts ordered. Later found this was a lie when Service manager quit the company.  Parts could not be ordered because the engine cases had never been opened due to lack of Suzuki required tool.  A month now later 11/20 and still no parts ordered because dealer is waiting to see if my purchased extended warranty which precludes "pre-existing issues" will pay for repair before proceeding.

Suzuki SEP Warranty says may not pay because problem had to be pre-existing and won't know until an inspection.  When asked dealer where that leaves me I was told Warranty is Plan A and they don't have to come up with Plan B until the claim is rejected.  Meanwhile I am making loan payments on something I don't have and only rode twice.

Palmetto Cycle Center is corrupt and fraudulent in business practice.

Finally Corrected

Today 12/14/12  I picked up my Suzuki Burgman AN650K7 scooter finally in running condition.  Just 5 days short of two months since first reported, but it is back.  After weeks of direct communication with Suzuki Customer Service who prefer to remain anonymous, and their documenting and discussing all the provable screw-ups with the actual owner of Palmetto Cycle Center, I have my Burgman back today at 2:30 pm. Kudos specifically to Suzuki, the Service Writer Jesse Watts, to the AMI Mechanic Terry and his helper Ben and to Mr Abe Inkidar the actual owner who had been kept in the dark on this mess.

I have no further issues and the unfortunate mistakes have been corrected it seems.  I wish the company continued growth, but sincerely hope it does so without the inept present Sales Manager Steve.

As promised, I am good for my word to point out the pluses as well as the minus in this grueling ordeal.   On 11/29 I received updated Suzuki SEP / Cornerstone Insurance paperwork from the Palmetto Cycle Center Business Manager (Agnes) that the insurance duration had been corrected from 24 to 36 months as it should have been.

Of course, I will have to verify this via Cornerstone but I wish to assume that this shows an effort on Palmetto's part to correct this aging situation.   Now, to get the AN650K7 Suzuki Burgman back where it belongs (in my garage) in fully repaired, running and dependable condition ASAP.  When and if that happens, another update will follow.

Thanks Palmetto for at least something!

11/27/12 Update

AUTHOR: Take2thecleaners - (United States of America)

POSTED: Tuesday, November 27, 2012

It was the now missing Service Manager that told customer that "this could not have happened just in the time I had the unit".  The issue was never the broken 12 mm bolt presented to inspectors, but instead the bearing through which the bolt runs.  Remember it was your own staff that showed me this.  I did not and do not have custody of my own scooter....you do!   And of course, you are correct that I did speak with the Insurance Company simply because your staff and supposed Management continually lied about already having parts on order and repair approved.

First and foremost,  Cornerstone Insurance (Suzuki SEP) is not the manufacturer and this is a fact you should know before you claim such here.  Secondly I would have never had to speak to them directly had your company not told me everything was already on order and the claim approved at a time you didn't even have the Manufacturer mandated tool to open the cases and still didn't know what the claim would be.   What you call interference on my part is catching you in a blatant lie and documenting it.

As of 11/27 I am told that the parts are flowing in and I now have a copy of Suzuki SEP / Cornerstone partial approval of claim and the store declaration that Palmetto will pick up the balance.  That or a refund is all I have ever asked for......repeatedly   It was the store decision to drag this out with lack of tools, inability to follow through, unwillingness to return calls or answer questions truthfully, etc.   My holding you accountable delayed nothing.

If and when this ends in the next week as it finally should, I will gladly post here that Palmetto made good on something they sold and I have no further issue with the company.  But, until such time you have no earned credibility at all with this customer.

Making good on a defective or prematurely failed vehicle was your responsibility from the start or do you consider 369 miles to be acceptable on a $5500 purchase?   Also, my sales receipt says i purchased and paid for a 36 month SEP policy, yet Palmetto turned into Cornerstone 24 months.   Was I wrong to have noticed this also?  Is that interference?

Unit was delivered to customer with no indication of any problems. Customer put approx 375 miles on the used machine. When customer reported problem the dealer picked up unit from customer on the next business day. Dealer had to order special tool used to split CVT cases in order to diagnose problem. When problem had been diagnosed dealer had to wait on manufacturer to approve warranty repair. Approval was delayed because customer interferred with approval process by claiming the problem was pre existing. An inspector from the manufacturer was sent out to determine cause. Manufacturer determined that if problem had been pre existing the machine would have never gotten out of the parking lot. Parts have been ordered and completed repair of unit is top priority.

Carolina Cycle Center has been diligent in satisfying customer wants and needs since 1970 and will continue to do so.
