Well. Today I called Palmetto Marketing Inc. to ask about my subscription ordered on Dec 20th 2003. (I got their telephone number from the internet as it is NOT listed on their receipt) I asked them where my subscription was, they commented "As your receipt states your order can take from 90 to 120 days before first delivery."

This sounded ridiculous, so I looked on the web. HOLY CRAP, who am I helping to support? I thought I was helping out a kid looking to go to Cancun... I remember doing the door to door stuff as a kid to earn prizes or cash. It was all good then... so I figured what the heck, it was only $34.00.

Now I see this, and a few other websites with horror stories. Not only do customers rarely get their magazines, but at least 1 child was raped, and another woman murdered by these "kids" they send out to our homes.

As a private Investigator I plan on doing a THOUROUGH search of this company's history, SO, IF YOU have been a victim of them (120 days has passed since your order, or you were miss informed about what you bought) Send me an E-MAIL and I'll enter your name in a complaint base here at the local BBB, Chamber of Commerce, and any Florida Dept. or Agency that will listen.

The Truth About Palmetto Marketing

AUTHOR: Kali - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, March 23, 2004

I used to work for Palmetto Marketing. I saw a newspaper ad and responded to it. Two days later I was on my way out of state to sell magazines. I was told that it was one huge party and that the people were great and it was a lot of fun. On the way there, our MANAGER was smoking pot with us.

When I arrived I was in shock. I have never seen so many teenagers operating in such an orderly fashion. They came in, grabbed a form, filled it out, and left to see their managers. As they filed in the one question that was always asked was, "What'd ya get on the day." This meant, "How many orders did you receive."

Anyway I began going door to door and selling these magazines. We were told that everything was legit. I met a lot of nice people and although I also thought that the magazine prices were a little high I didn't complain because it paid my salary.

Pametto Marketing is a cult. You live, eat, and breathe magazines. I was there for over 3 months and became one of the top selling agents. Yeah, I made a lot of money... but I got treated like s**t when I had a bad day. These people probably have about 100 kids or more that travel around and live in a new hotel every 2 weeks. Plus, being on mag crew is like living in the 70's... any drug that you could possibly imagine, you can do on mag crew. A few of the managers actually deal the drugs. Here's an example, after being there for 3 months I had done pot, ectasy, acid, crystal meth, and cocaine. Plus we drank a lot.

I wish that we could stop them from ripping people off. I will admit I had the time of my life while I was travelling, but I still feel bad about the people that I ripped off. I had no idea that it was a scam until towards the end. Therefore, if your receipts say 044 on them I personally apoligize. Also, if your receipts say 044 on them call 954-341-8135. Tell them that you would like to speak to Beau Spencer. Tell them that u are an ex employee and he will DEFINETLY call you back within an hour. Then you can speak to the owner of 044 himself.

Palmetto Marketing is sitting in Cancun drinking little umbrella drinks and using our money

AUTHOR: Rodney - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, March 11, 2004

Hi, my wife and I ordered two magazines on Nov 04, 2003 when a young kid came to our house and wanted us to buy these magazines so he could go to Cancun. As like the rest of the people and their stories, my wife and I tried to help him out to win this trip. Then we waited and waited until I went to my neighbor's house to see if he had gotten his subscription. When I got there he told me he did not order anything! But the kid told me that he had gotten two magazines and that he sent the boy over to my house which was a lie. Not only did we get ripped off but we got lied too! So on March 11, 2004 we decided to try to find them on line, and boy were we suprised to find out that they have really ripped a lot of good hard working people off and some probably didn't really have the money but were willing to go out of their way to help these kids. And if the truth be known about it these kids probably did not win the trip either. So we can't blame the kids because they were only doing what they were told to do. But however, we can hold Palmetto Marketing responsible for this because this is fraud & false advertisement. And with all the people they have ripped off there needs to be a lawsuit taken out on them. Then they need to be shut down. When is it justice when someone can come to your home and lie to people and take our money for something that we never received. It really falls under common law robbery because they took money off the people knowing that they were not going to fulfill the orders. So we, the people have got to stand up and do something about them before they rip off other people! Because like the others, we don't have the $78.00 dollars just to throw away. So we the people are going to have to do something about this because for all we know, the owner of Palmetto Marketing is sitting in Cancun drinking little umbrella drinks and using our money. So if you can email me at lastride@triad.rr.com with information about how to get our money back, we would really appreciate it. Thanks
