I am rather nauseated as I write this.

We were looking for a place to eat today and my copsion suggested the new ( to us anyway) Panda Express restaurant on Burnet Road --they have several lcoations.

In Austin, Texas, one thing I HAVE learned is that if you go to a restaurant around here and you DO NOT get extremely sick after eating there, then that is one you better go back to and eat only there or YOU WILL BE SORRY!

We ate at the Panda Express at about 4 p;m. today, Sunday, April 27, 2008.

I had the fried rice and the new Bejiing beef dish and the Kung Pao chicken. My dining companion had the Beijiing beef dish as well, mushroom chicken, the stir fried vegetables and two eggrolls which were an extra side order.

I wanted to go to the El Greco which features the BEST HOMESTYLE GREEK FOOD I EVER ATE IN MY LIFE!!!! But I figured I should let my dinner companion choose the place.

No sooner had we eaten there then my dinner companion has to find a restroom YESTERDAY! A few minutes later, I did TOO!

The food was delicious but OVERPRICED for the portions we received. I estimate about half to 3/4 a cup of fried rice and about that much for each entree. Add a soda and the companion got two eggrolls and it call came up to about $22 or $23 total -- or very close.

We almost made it home!

Now I finished throwing up etc. and the companion is STILL throwing up and I estimate that everything we ate in there has been returned to the sewer systerms -- with interest!

I might as well have taken that money and flushed it too. My upper lip is swollen as are my eyes and I am feeling dizzy and do not dare go too far from the restroom! My companion is still in there after about 45 minutes...

I wondered why on a usually busy Saturday afternoon that nobody was in there and the people who were working to fix the food were about three undocumented workers. They did not understand English whatsoever but because I can speak Spanish and I was courteous, I thought they would be able to understand me. The lady who was the manager spoke Spanish with a Middle Eastern accent and her English was excellent. She was NOT Hispanic or Asian, incidentally!

This one rates a call to the health department the first thing Monday morning!

I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT WE ATE THAT MADE US SO SICK AND I DO NOT KNOW IF YOU AND YOUR FAMILY WILL GET SICK IF YOU EAT THERE. I JUST WANT TO WARN YOU OF THE POSSIBILY.

I wish I could bill them for two cases of ROLLAIDS I will have to take and the Pepto-Bismol we will have to take because of their LOUSY food and WHO KNOW WHAT SORT OF SANITATION PROBLEMS THEY HAVE IN THERE...

My throat and stomach are ON FIRE! My eyes are dwelling shut and this monitor looks like the inside of a fish bowl...I see an ambulance and the ER in my future.

New People, New Policies! PROBLEM IS RESOLVED!

AUTHOR: Joe - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, January 18, 2009

I went into the same location of Panda Express to see how it improved and the FOOD IS A LOT BETTER!

NOBODY GOT SICK THIS TIME SO I AM GLAD THAT IT IS NO LONGER LISTED ON MY LIST OF RESTAURANTS FROM HELL!

However, that is subject to change if I ever get sick again as a result of eating there!

I love Panda Express!!!!

Panda Express in Oklahoma City is our favorite restaurant. I don't know what kind of prices they charge where you are, but we get the three entree dinner - the most expensive item - and it is only 14.00 for two people. We eat there at least once a week - the food is fresh, service is great and we've never had a single problem. Sounds more like a stomach virus and not the food.

I wish it WAS a BOGUS Report....

AUTHOR: Joe - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, April 29, 2008

Today is Tuesday and I am STILL feeling rather ill.

I don't have a Chinese food business and prior to eating here, there was only ONE place I EVER ate Chinese food here in Austin and it was the Wok n' Roll. I don't know what in the heck possessed my dinner companion to suggest another place but I thought it would be cool to try it.

I did call the health department.

Like I said on a Saturday afternoon, almost ALL of the restaurants around here are usually crowded and there was NO ONE in this one.

I had my misgivings because here IF YOU FIND A RESTAURANT THAT DOES NOT MAKE YOU SICK TO EAT THERE, YOU BETTER NOT EAT ANYPLACE ELSE THAT COOKS THAT STYLE OF FOOD!

That said, I am going to have to try to find another Mexican Restaurant! They TORE DOWN THE BEST MEXICAN ( AUTHENTICALLY MEXICAN AND NOT TOURISTY TEX MEX) FOOD RESTAURANT IN THIS TOWN TO BUILD ANOTHER BUNCH OF CHEAPLY MADE OVERPRICED CONDOS THAT NOBODY WILL BE ABLE TO AFFORD OF THIS ECONOMY KEEPS CRASHING!

NO MORE PANDA EXPRESS IN ANY LOCATION!

It was a VERY expensive and PAINFUL LESSON!

I thought they were REQUIRED to post whether or not their food had MSG in it and apparently it DID! But there were NO warnings posted...

I WAS RIPPED OFF $23 AT LEAST plus the remainder of my Sunday afternoon.

Sounds like a bogus report

AUTHOR: Leonado - (U.S.A.)

Is Panda taking away your customers?

Sure sounds like a bogus report to me since bad food will take a while to make you sick. I have never seen a case of spontaneous vomiting from bad food...

Another possibility...

Asian foods very often add MSG. With the symptoms you described, including how quickly the appeared, leads more to a possible allergic reaction rather than Food Poisoning.

Most restaurants do not add MSG(and I think this includes Panda Express), but that does not mean that their supplier did not add MSG in the ingredients.

Health Department Inspectors Will Be Checking...

AUTHOR: Joe - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, April 28, 2008

I don't often make a complaint on a restaurant but this one deserved five stars and a special mention in the Rip Off Hall of Shame!

I would have gone today and requested my MONEY BACK but no telling what kind of additional germs and bacteria, maybe even a new strain of virus or two I would pick up in there!

Don't EVER intend to go back...

I think I will let the City health inspectors check it all out instead.
