I filled out their application online for a 2009 Nissan Altima. I recieved a follow up call from Gerri the finace manager and he told me I was approved and asked me to meet with him. Once I arrived, he greated me and made me fill out some papers then he made me wait 2 hrs in the waiting room and then he gave me a completely different story and I was told that I needed a co-signer.

Over the next few days he followed up with me and I let him know that I would bring a co-signer. Once I got back into the office he tried to flirt with me and asked me out on a date with him. Ewww! He gave me the run around once again and made me wait for hrs as he so called "called the bank" who was writing my loan. I didnt leave with a car that day and this process went on for days.

Gerri finally notified me and told me that everything was approved and that a curtousy car would pick me up from my home and bring me into the dealership. A sales man arrived at my home to pick me up and on our way there I noticed that he was driving in the completely wrong direction. When I asked where we were headed he told me that he works for Rockland Nissan in NY and that is where my car was.

Once we arrived I had to wait 3hrs to meet with salesmen. Once I finally did, I let the sales men (Dave and Todd) know that Gerri had negotiated a different sale price of the car then what was on the document. They told me that the price on document included taxes insurance and tags etc. Furthermore, The document was incomplete at the time I signed it. They them typed in/added the total in after I signed it. I was so excited to finally get out of there after waiting for hrs and given a runaround with these fools for a week that I didnt realize until I got home and read over my documentation.

The banks protects cosumers against scam artist like these clowns and there was a 90 day clause in my contract where I could forefit the loan and give the car back within 90 days if something illegal was done. I called rockland nissan and complained to then and told them that I knew what they had done and they said that they could not do anything for me so I then said "You want to play that game? I know a better game!" and slamed the phone down. Just as I was about to file the claim with the bank Todd and Dave called me and offered to pay me back the $1500.00 that they scammed me on. They told me they would send me 3 checks of $500 over the next 3 months. I recived the first check of $500.00 but never a dime more. When I followed up with them they played games with me and lied and said that they mailed out all the other checks and to keep checking my mailbox. They new if they dragged me along for 90 days that I wouldnt be able to file the claim against them with the bank. The icicng on the cake is that I also realized that the carfax report they provided was bogus and my car had been in a major accident. That information was never provided to me. STAY AWAY FROM THESE CLOWNS!!

Yea they got you, but.....

You let them do it to you.  You had SEVERAL opportunities to leave and just not do the deal..but you kept going back.

Why didn't you leave during the 2 hour period you waited the first time?

Why did you not just forget about the deal when they said you needed a co-signer?

Why didn't you leave as soon as he flirted with you?

Why didn't you leave while he kept you waiting for several hours why he "called the bank"?

Why didn't you tell him to take you back home when he told you it was a different dealer?

Why didn't you tell him to take you home during the 3 hours you had to wait at this new dealer?

Then the BIG question is why in the world would you sign a contract that was not 100% filled out?

The fact is that as soon as you stayed that initial 2 hours and came back with a Co-Signer they knew they had you and could do just about anything they wanted.  Just be glad that this is all that happened.  By the way the bank wouldn't need to "protect" you, if you would take some responsibility and use "Common Sense".   But even in this case you proably would have been out of luck because even after everything they did instead of getting it in writing you took their verbal word that they would pay you $1500.
