I have a chronic back condition. I went to curtisy massage therapy to get relief from my tension. I arrived and was greeted by the owner parri curtis. She said that se does the whole body and I should strip of all clothing. She assured me by saying she was not a pervert and I have nothing to be ashamed of. I stripped down naked and layed down on the table and she did her job. It was a great service which is entirely confusing and totally understandable why she had someone come in the room to take my money, while I was naked on a massage table. I feel equivelant to a rape victim. I am afraid to sleep because this person may be outside my house waiting to rob me when i can not see them doing it. I am in shock at this moment still. It happen many hours ago. I have been vomiting uncontrollably from my anxiety that I no longer take any medicine for. I feel trapped between my own sanity and some evil person with no conscious.

Ten years ago I had a bad overall service experience with Ms. Curtis. She reacted dishonestly abusive. Here is the whole story.

AUTHOR: Jaipers - (United States)

POSTED: Friday, March 12, 2021

Ten years ago, I was the King County Chapter Director of the Michigan National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws. I participated in various community-building tasks such as organizing with local district chapters, offering video led pieces of training for signature collection on ballot initiatives for marijuana legalization efforts, meeting with other county chapter directors to provide support for the legalization effort in Michigan, my home state Louisiana, and Washington D.C., taking loads of attention off local organizers by engaging with law enforcement on key medical marijuana concerns of John-Q-Public, auditing local city police memorandum initiatives to crackdown authoritatively on law enforcement corruption by legally supporting citizens rights to fair medical choice access, and video documenting my time in this nonprofit organization during the beginning stages of the marijuana legalization process in Michigan.

As you can see, my life was pretty busy in that period. I did all this for the public benefit without a desire to gain financially from the work I committed. My life was hard to live as it was because I suffered greatly back then from PTSD with police corruption in Louisiana with years of bad experiences with disgruntled law enforcement agencies across that wretched state. I narrowly escaped that lifestyle with my life, much less my freedom. On top of all that, I have been on SSI since I was twenty-years-old for high-functioning autism, pervasive developmental disorder (not officially specified), and mild Aspergers. I did also suffer at that time from public agoraphobia and general social awkwardness. My father, a medical doctor, was good enough to support my living standards, buying me the Honda Element I still own today and paying for lifestyle freedoms I would not have been able to afford without a stable income of a paying job.

I was a trusted civil rights activist for free medical choice, a concerned citizen for marijuana consumer protections, and not an unstable insane wacko stinky dirty nasty weirdo, as explained discourteously by Ms. Curtis of Courtesy Massage Therapy. I am still a trusted business acquaintance of Mathew Abel (Cannabis Lawyer), an acting board member with MINORML. I am no longer a marijuana user today; however, I support legalization and personal choice on the matter.

If my memory serves me correct, I prepaid that woman for the massage service costing $140 for a deep tissue appointment on the date in question. Thirteen minutes before arriving at her place of business in a scarily-placed repurposed industrial building parallel to some railroad tracks, I visited an ATM for $140 and placed that money in my wallet. I did have my wallet in her place of business, even though she states misleadingly otherwise. I was "acting weird," behaving autistically insecure during that period in my life. I asked if I needed to pay before getting her business, and she responded simply with, "Sure, I can take it now."

The massage was not plentiful or terrible. I got up and did forget that I prepaid, AND I ASKED, "How much was the cost of the appointment." Knowing dishonestly, intending to double charge or also forgetting for whatever reason that I already paid, she responded with, "That'll be $140." I went to my wallet, began to panic when I opened it, and it was empty, still not realizing I had already paid before accepting her doing the massage. Everything aligns with her description of my behavior except the reality of the business transaction. I went to my vehicle and searched for the supposedly missing currency. I sat on the train tracks having an anxiety/panic attack, rocking as I would many times when things took an unexpected turn socially. I went to her and said I do not possess $140, and I did not understand why that was the case. She told me, "If you do not pay, I will call the police and have you arrested for theft of services."

I continued to panic and fled the scene heading back to my bank while I called my father to double-check that I did not forget to ask for the money for the massage appointment and for him to check the bank account withdrawal record. Two years before this, my father obtained a power of attorney over me so he could help me learn to manage on my own, no longer relying on him to do everything, but still be able to help if something went wrong. He confirmed it all correctly; if I did not have the money, the therapist might be attempting a double charge. He said to be brave and know that businesses will take advantage to make a quick extra buck.

I went home and was highly anxious for hours, not being able to calm down. I made the Rip-off Report statement, called the Grand Rapids police, which I had a personal acquaintance with, and told nothing was reported that fit my narrative description. The next day I called Ms. Curtis to complain directly, and she scorned me for stealing from her hard-working pocket, saying that I was a dishonest freak. I was angry for the demented comments and explained that I made a Rip-off Report Dot Com statement. A friend did not tell her anything. That is a flat-out fabrication of fact. She said she would have the post taken down and then sue me for defamation and pain and suffering. Nothing has happened since she made her threat, and the statute of limitation is, seriously by now, past due.

In my reported statement, I was seriously unsure what had transpired at that time in my life. I later recalled asking to prepay months later when I talked with friends at a work-based retreat in northern Michigan. I let it go knowing that either way, I went for a mentally abusive ride with Ms. Curtis, who chose or negligently tried to double charge for her services. Many years after changing email addresses, I witnessed her immediate untimely reaction to my business experience from her evidence-less perspective. She took my words, appearance, lifestyle, medical choice, disability, financial transaction error, a human right to innocent until PROVEN guilty, and my privacy out of context. She is the only individual business person in my thirty-seven years of living that made this claim of unproven criminal liability against me.

I see she has loyal customers vouching for her service, or possibly it is her on alternative emails vouching for herself. Still, I will never want to exchange even a look at that woman for the rest of my living existence.

I cannot remove my post, hastily stated when I was mentally affected by Ms. Curtis and within my disability right to react according to my experience. She also cannot take back the sideways up-side-down indecently bigotted comments about the experience with her twisted motives and inconsistent actions.

I have been a client of Ms. Curtis for two years now and have never experienced anything like this whatsoever.  I always set my wallet and rolex on the empty chair in the room before the massage starts and they are in the same spot when the message is over.  She is by far the best message therapist I have ever been to!!

I recently met with Parri and was a consumer of her services.  She was an excellent professional and worked with me and was upfront and very honest and did excellent work! I have no problems working with her again.  I am not sure what this guy talking about, but it is clear from what he wrote that he has a mental disorder or a drug problem! That is nothing like the person I met! I highly recommend Parri!

Parri Curtis is great!

I have used Parri Cutis' services and it was nothing short of true professionalism. She is an expert in her craft as well as friendly, accommodating, and warm.

When I opened my eyes, all my belongings were still undisturbed on the other side of the room (obviously, since she is an honest businesswoman).

It's obvious by the guy's comment about feeling trapped between sanity and evil that he is just mentally ill.

Why would someone who is excellent at their job need to risk their reputation by stealing?

#1 REBUTTAL Owner of company

John Larson The Person whom has reported my business had ripped me off.

AUTHOR: Parri - (United States of America)

POSTED: Sunday, August 21, 2011

John Larson  25 yrs of age from Rockford came in on August 16th. He had complained of serious back issues which I had addressed by doing 2hrs of deep tissue massage. The cost of this particular massage is $140. I did not ask him to pay up front just in case it was not as severe as he claimed.  During the massage he was fully awake and aware of what  I was doing and he was covered by a sheet. His belongings was in front of a chair to far from the massage table for any one to get to. As he was talking about all the mmedications he was on he also made me aware he was high on Marijuana and he had a Medical card for this. He reeked of the stuff which I had assured him the session may not completely work. He had stated he was perfectly fine. He had replied he had dabbled in cocaine as well.
When the 2hrs was finished I asked him to please get up slowly and get dressed. He went over to the chair and sat there acting really nervous I asked him if he was alright several times. I noticed he was in and out of his where bouts. I made him tell me where he was at. He said here for a massage. I then said you need to get dressed. Usually I step out of the room or turn around but he was acting different. He then reached in his pocket and asked how much does he owe I said $140. He stood there and said he does not have it, It may be out in the car. So I unlocked the door ( which I have 2 doors that are locked and a surveillance camera at the inside one) I asked him to give me his full name phone number and his address and had said you have to return with the money in 15 mins or cops are called. He assured me he would be back. He got into his vehicle came out of the parking lot and swerved back into a parking spot, got out and accused me of having some one come in and steal the money from him. He had no wallet in with him or at least showed me proof of no money. John Larson sat on the rail road tracks rocking back n forth and I said I will be calling the police and he got up and fled to his vehicle. I made a police report. But since it wasn't a break in or over $300 there wasn't much I could do. Then one of my friends saw this on this sight. So I ask for it to be removed asap. I have been in Business for 7yrs and had never been scammed out of money. This John Larson was clearly on drugs when he came in and had not said any thing pertaining autism. He did not have signs of this. I believe he came in intentionally not to pay and to ruin my reputation. You can tell by his "testamonial" he is on drugs or have a mental disability. He states he no longer take medication and feel trapped by his own insanity and some evil person with no conscious. This tells me this person John Larson is a dangerous possible criminal. I would advise all Massage Therapist of this person he has long greasy brown hair, wears glasses, 5'8 white, and looks like Weird Al Yankovich. He drives a 2003 Honda utility type vehicle.
