I needed to make some repairs to my Car and I did what I think a lot of People do today and shopped around for the best price online. Unfortunately for me, the best price was on partsgeek.com

I ordered 4 parts (nearly $500) and roughly 10 days later I had 4 parts, but only 3 of them were the ones I ordered. So I had recieved one part I did not order and was missing one which I had ordered. So I submitted a ticket on their site, but I needed this part urgently so the next day I decided to call them as well. I was on hold for 30 minutes and then I got an automated voice that said "goodbye" weird, right?

So I called back, 30 minutes turned into 2 hours and still no one picked up. I called during normal business hours and no one picked up for over 2 hours! I got a bad feeling and decided to read up on the company online (which I shpuld have done before I ordered) and the BBB gave them a D- rating!

Then I read that I would be responsible for paying for the return shipping and a restocking fee of 15% for their error.

This is straight from their site "All returns are freight prepaid by the customer. We do not offer return shipping reimbursement regardless of the party at fault." If I would have noticed this I would have never done business with these people.

Also, after doing some research please know that if these People send you the wrong part don't bother sending it back to them, nevermind that they expect you to pay them for their mistake. According to the Federal Trade Commission if you receive merchandise you did not order it is legally yours for free. You are not obligated to send it back or even notify them, so don't fall for their scam return policy and put that stuff on ebay.

Check out the Federal Trade Commission's article on this

File a dispute with your credit card company and let them know that you did not receive an item you were charged for, because getting in contact with anyone at this Company seems impossible.

Hope this helps anyone else who mistakenly did business with these scammers.

Shop locally

After having had similar problem with a couple companies, I always shop locally if I possibly can.

Local companies need the business and you can take your old part with you and compare it with the new one to make sure it's correct before any money even changes hand.
