Pawpatchboerboels, Pawpatchridges Steve Quick Puppy Mill, Misleading Information, Will not honor warranty Palestine Texas

I was shocked to see, by looking at AKC Records, that Steve Quick is breeding his female puppies excessively and inhumanely.  One such girl, Quicks Lexi Luke Angel, was bred at least 9 times in over 7 years.  Another, Quicks Lexi Rose Abby, was bred at least 4 times in 3 years.  This is not the practice of responsible dog breeders, who only breed their girls once or twice on average.  If you would like a ridgeback puppy, please contact a breeder on the breeders list of the Rhodesian Ridgeback Club of America.  They must sign and abide by a code of ethics of humane practice and health testing. 

I bought a male ridgeback from steve in August of 2010.  He had a kinked tail, but i knew that when i bought simba from him.  Simba has turned out perfect and has had NO health issues.  He has the best temperment, and everyone who meets simba says how well behaved, calm, and easy going he is for a ridgeback.  I was thinking about getting another ridgeback from him, but am concerned with all the complaints on here.

I have purchased two Ridgebacks from Steve Quick.  Both were "imperfect" and not show quality.  One I got 6 years ago and is ridgeless.  The other I got a year and a half ago and has a half ridge.  Both of them are wonderful dogs and in excellent health, both now and when I received them as young pups.  It is unfortunate that when you purchase any animal there are always health risks.  Some controllable, some uncontrollable.  I don't know enough about breeding to comment on this but I can say that if a breeder had a habit of selling sick puppies, I most likely would have gotten one out of my two purchases.  And both of my purchases were pleasant ones.

I purchased a boxer pup 11 yrs ago that turned out to be deaf.  When I told the breeder about it I got a lot of attitude, and unwillingness to help reinburse the vet bills associated with it.  I think this happens a lot, but I would never have accused the breeder of selling sick puppies.  It was unfortunate, and although he wasn't willing to reinburse me for vet bills, my deaf puppy turned out to be a wonderful wonderful pet and lived a long a happy life.  Sometimes, things just happen.....

Im just writing to comment on my experience of the purchase from steve quick at paw patch kennels. The puppy was born sep. 25 and i did recieve her with an unually large umbilical hernia. The hernia went away in about a month, just like the vets told me it would. I know that Daisey was the mother of my puppy and not to sure the father. I am so happy that i have never had any experiences like anyone else. Now my puppy is 12 weeks old and is in perfect condition. Just took her the the vet yesterday and the doctor commented on how well behaved my puppy is. "Not over aggressive yet not to scarred like other dogs he has seen". Overall I had a good experience with Steve Quick.
