Made a purchase on ebay from China for Gold coins. Mind you I had the 'gut' feeling that this was going to be an issue but followed through because I was 'locked in' by Ebay purchasing guidelines.

Paid with Paypal due to "buyer protection" sense of security.

Coins arrived and all were bottom dollar frauds. Contacted EBAY and Paypal, seller and was requested by Paypal to send back to seller for the refund. Purchase price over $500 return shipping fee over $100. I paid the $100 plus for the return shipping because paypal requested online shipping registration. They failed to state what would later be something important, of delivery confirmation.

Contacted Paypal for 3 months while they sat with my money in 'holding' while the item was being disputed. Ensured that they had the tracking numbers, and they kept changing the "resolved" dates.

Finally Paypal found in favor of the seller, after I had sent the items back, paid the original cost, plus cost of return shipping, because they failed to tell me that USPS doesn't track well once it is out of the US. And that Paypal can't see any delivery to the person showing online, so they found in favor of the seller.

Buyer protection? I followed ALL requested things from paypal. Shipped back in original container, to address listed in resolution page, shipped with an online tracking id #, and still am out nearly $700 with no "buyer protection"

Brought before Better Business Bureau
No action taken due to non purchase of door to door tracking (which I would have paid the extra $20 for this service had I known I needed it!)

wrong choice

you made a big mistake now. you should have kept the item and take it to court or someone who can make a substantial choice in the matter, why?

with the items you can have a physical person read the sellers description, then they could check the coins.

now your in water with concreate shoes cause you have no items to hold as proof nor do you have shipping proof, so they seller can argue he sent them but never recieved them back for refund.

too bad usps does not keep track atleast if the package was delivered to destination or not just by checking the reciept but then again thats like asking a person to chop their limbs off.

use your cc to pay for paypal items

AUTHOR: Mike - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, December 08, 2008

I've had good luck using my credit card to pay for items on ebay via paypal ( I use citibank)

the few times I did not get what I had bought ( and no help from the seller or paypal) I had my credit card company withhold payment to paypal, paypal got things taken care of quickly since they were out the money and charge back fees.

they ( paypal) threathened to close my paypal account, but they never did.
